guys..ask u all....i went to funan John 3:16...i ask them when is A65 & 77 launch in s'pore..then 1 of the sales guy ask me why I want to get Sony A77..i said the speed lor... then he told me the current A35 & A55 the focus quailty is very poor..1st imagine capture is good then the subsequent photo focus will be poor quailty...he said Sony marketing is too over...then he say A35 & 55 perform badly on low light condition as compare to Canon..he also said Sony one cannot adjust exposure lar aperture lar..very restricted..is it true?then he recommend me Canon 7D if i want speed.then for my case he recommend Canon 60D.... guys is it what he said is the truth? hope some expert can guide me....
John 3:16 is notoriously anti-Sony. They get nice fat margins from Canon so push Canon. They tend to talk a lot of nonsense and sometimes outright lies. I've caught them several times showing someone the basic lens zoom effect shot (where you zoom the lens as you shoot to stretch the image) and they said "Only Canon 7D can do this!"
BTW, "perform poorly in low light" was a Canon strength back in... oh... 2007. Now not anymore.

Well..sometimes the sales person will only introduce or push that particular products because they can earn them more commission (money) from it. Cant blame them entirely.. since they also want to earn more money..Thumps up for you to seek for more information before any purchases.

A salesman job is to make sales.
He is not a saint even though the shop is named after a verse.
J316 aside, do note one thing. if u r new to dslr then it will be good to read ard before deciding on a camera system. as the name suggest, system. so brand aside, do know the type of photography u would like to take and if those lens are available.
eg ex colleague got a pentax kx system only to change out of it 4 mths later after he realize his interest in birding and he needs long lenses.

Sony D-SLR is very slow in sales compare to other brands. It's very understandable if not so many reputable dealers to promote Alpha seriously.
Last week when I was in Singapore, I visited one good photography store in Funan Center while I showed my pictures using Alpha. They were so shocked with the stunning results those very hard to achieved by others brands.
This is a big challenge for Sony to change mindset of the camera industry with latest SLT and NEX. Alpha is the great products and still the best from my experiences so far with many brands in hand..

Wait till they see A77 selling in bulk loads and all these retailers will be slapping their own face in envy.
I am not too sure, but it seems sony is quite strict in selecting their authorised retailers. Probably those not chosen are pissed and always slam their products.

But i find it strange, cause when i went Korea last year, i hardly see any Sony DSLR/SLT used. So why they going crazy over it now?
There were some Nex here and there though.
On a side note, i noticed Koreans are pretty camera mad and they do take really good pics.

I find Sony Singapore Website is kind of slow announcing the A77. Even though market is small and stocks are not yet in (probably), at least they should announce it already.
I see their website only have the A35, 5N and C3 as their latest model. Sony Malaysia Website have the A77, A65 updated for weeks already. Maybe they are still unsure at what SRP the DSLT will be.
