Yeah was looking btw LX7 and RX100 but later decided to settle for RX100 for the smaller size and amazing quality photos.
Still, i guess we dont want to compromise any quality when it comes to photos, and especially memories.

na...its not above $1k..so according to most Singaporean standard. I would say its still not expensive to them. (n most are willing to spend anyway)
Just see how many people are buying/upgrading new gadget every time they roll out. :bsmilie:

It definitely cost more than the normal compact cameras but if you compare the features, functions and performance, it is really not 'expensive'. There are more compact cameras like Leica which are truly expensive.

Can i ask what memory cards you guys use for RX100 ?
SD or SDHC .... not sure whats the diff...

i supposed it will be a Class 10..... 16gb or 32gb =)

I just came back from Bali and enjoyed playing with the RX100 and all its features. It's really a wonderful camera and worth every cent. I spent a couple of weeks researching the Oly OMD and the Fuji XE1, and virtually decided to buy the XE1. But last minute, after thinking hard about having to carry a larger camera around the neck everywhere I go, I switched to the RX100 and have totally no regrets. I just put it into my belt camera pouch and i have no problems running around Bali, climbing and down boats and vehicles, and I can whip it out any time I want to take a shot.

I have a question on the LCD brightness. There is a Sunny Weather setting which makes the LCD very bright and useful for outdoor shots. However, in the Auto setting, the LCD never reaches anywhere near the Sunny Weather setting, even in bright sunlight. In fact, I hardly notice any changes in the LCD brightness under the Auto setting, and I'm wondering if this setting is faultly. Can anyone share whether in their Auto setting, does the LCD brightness ever goes up to as bright as the Sunny Weather setting?

So assuming you have to pay GST, it will come up to S$755.43 x 1.07 = S$808.31. If comes with only local HK warranty and without any free 16 GB SDHC card, then I would say its more expensive than what I got in Singapore for S$822 during the promotion period when Sony absorbed the 7% GST.

Got mine online from HK for $780. Waited about 5 working days.

The RX100 impresses me because the image does not appear to come from a compact camera, which is usually muddy and lacks image resolution. The RX100 amazes me with its high ISO performance - even at ISO 6400, I can get great images.

I have shared some images in my review.

Thought I check with fellow forumers cum RX100 owners here before I commit to order this via the web. Can we get this or other good protectors here in SG so I need not wait for shipping? Btw, I need only one and will offer the other piece at cost to any bro who is interested.

hey guys, when u bought your rx100, was it wrapped in plastic? Was there a warranty card?

I bought mine today, but it did not come with plastic or warranty card :-(

Mine came with a full A4 size laminated warranty card with original signature signed by the designer of the RX100. It has a serial number on the card and it states unlimited warranty for 100 years, aligned with the RX-100 product name.

As for the RX100, it is not wrapped in plastic, but sealed in a anti-static nano material which is really troublesome as got to use a special cutter to cut open at the shop.

Just joking. No warranty card will be supplied for all Sony cameras. All warranty will be done online nowadays.
