I just brought the WX1 for a holiday. It's nice as a EDC. The decent iso capability, lowlight mode and panaromic feature is great fun. The metering is not reliable and is often wonky, colours are sometimes painful to look at. But it's a small camera after all. I left my m8 and DSLR at home and focused on having fun instead of lugging so much gear around.
Only one little thing that appears strange. Fill flash on a dark background appears to give the subject a cutout with shadow effect. Ruins it totally. Example below.

There are two things here - the flash a little too strong, Flash colour temp different.
Usually, powering down your flash slightly may improve things, or alternatively you may want to try going without flash - though that would mean the subject would be under exposed, but this is predominantly a scene that is back lit and also the light is warm careful balancing of the flash power and also the flash colour is important.
A camera with a flash gun with a GFLS + amber dome might do the trick... WX1 isn't equipped for such shots.
