Sony Carl zeiss 24mm f1.8

The last time I checked, it was retailed at $1,499. Think the price went up due to shortage of supply.

Anyway, it is a good lens with really high quality. If you can get it around $1,400 plus minus, should be quite good!

$14xx is a pretty good price considering some ppl r selling used pieces for $14xx to $15xx here in BnS... LOL

CP also quoted me $14xx for the lens....

Just called Cathay Photo. No stocks at the moment. They quoted me $1,499 previously but no stocks and can't confirm when will stocks be arriving again. One of the sales staff mentioned that price may move up because of shortage.

SLR Revo no stocks, and also claimed that they have ordered for a few months from supplier but no stocks.

MSColor left 1 last piece. Selling at cash price of $1,450. Pay by card will be similar to CP quote of $1,499.

So any hiadee keen to buy this, chiong down to MSColor now to grab the last piece, as stocks are all gone again!

Search on price.com.hk and seems it's retailing @ around SGD$1,3xx.00 in HK. Might pick up a copy if d price is too attractive to resist when in HK.. Cheers...

If money is no issue, get the B+W MRC F Pro UV & CPL Filters... just a recommendation...

anything is good.. from $20 Emolux to $85 Carl Zeiss filter.. or etc etc..

Carl Zeiss filters are really nice.... But don't think they have 49mm size (checked SLRR and MScolor).

My Carl Zeiss 24mm using B+W Nano filter. Perfect fit.

Think will be happy with B+W nano for now. The matt black seems to fit nicely with the CZ24 better.

Using Carl Zeiss filter for my X-Pro1 lens which is shiny black... Better matching colour!

MScolor has 2-3 set left. A friend just bought one yesterday at the AMK main store.

Price is at $1,450.

I think with MScolor bringing in stocks, this lens is no longer rare. Should be seeing used set selling lower than $1,300.

It will drop below $1,300 when supply is normal (DD/SS rules!).

BTW, the quality of CZ24 seems to vary... I have a previous set of the CZ24 which is not as sharp (at f1.8), and when shoot with smallest aperture, it has a circle spot at the lower centre.

My current set is definitely sharper than the 1st set. It will be difficult for the first time buyer to be able to judge unless you have 2 sets to compare.

If you are looking for a brand new set, will be good to walk around Funan. I have seen a shop selling 1 set at $1,300 before GST (sealed set). No point getting a used set at more than $1,300 unless it is a really newly bought set with warranty.

I bought mine for 1390 brand new and couple of months back..
Now price going up..

Anyway I sold it away as my copy wasn't very sharp wide open..
Which was a disappointment..

They r making this CZ24/f1.8 in Japan or Thailand? Maybe can check on the manufacturing country to gauge if QC is up to mark?

Lens made in Japan. Just got mine after searching 3 shops in Japan.
