i was just about to buy the alpha before i join this community to learn more & this is what i come to see ... another new model from sony coming up ... :( but i do not think any way i can afford this new model .:cry:
 

The new model is not A-100 replacement, it's more like the KM7D replacement, which is way long overdue.

Somehow I see a Minolta in the Sony DSLRs... it's good that way. Sony is not known for making great interfaces.

i wonder why minolta changes from a ISO hot shoe to a minolta own's hotshoe

Proprietary lock-in... u can use only Minolta flashes. Otherwise buy an adaptor... $$$ but there are also engineering benefits I think...

Oh definitely... that's one of the chief benefits... anyway the ISO mount is totally outdated with today's materials and manufacturing ability...
