Hmmm... 1000 USD is about 1500 SGD... About right for body-only, especially if they are gray imports or straight from the factory.

Hey hey, Sony are flying me down to Sydney on Thursday morning for the A700 launch in Australia.

Will be interesting to hear others opinions whilst there apart from creating my own.

I have no real set price on the body yet but the guess is about $2200 Australian.

Will let you know what I think when I get back if you are interested :bsmilie:

Looks like everyone is looking for way to just bash A700 quality. The watercolor effect is not A700 fault, it's due to the Lightroom raw converter. Apparently it's a know problem even for some of the Canon raw when used in LR. The same raw when converted with SONY Raw converter has no water color effect. :bsmilie:

Ha ha...looking at the date and assuming they will showcase A-700, looks like those going for the Canon marathon can go over to Millenium Walk. At the end all submit photo of A-700 camera for the contest and get projected on the slideshow. $ONY should pay us for the free advertisement. :bsmilie:
