The cv35 1.2 images are beautiful.

How much do they cost?
Are they manual focus ? Cannot auto hor?
I notice there are many dials and numbers on the lens, what so they do?

Drooling liao

Voigtlander 35mm/f1.2 Nokton Aspherical II $1600

yes, manual lens only. i wont recommend getting such expensive lens to start with if r u not a manual focus person.

Thanks bro for the info.... was wondering how Voigtlander can be know as CV.... :dunno::embrass:

Cosina is the japanese company that manufacture the Voigtlander lenses nowadays, the Austrian original company is not around anymore. So its call Cosina Voigtlander

Its relative bro. Given and same focal length and aperture across Voigtlander, Carl Zeiss & Leica, Voigtlander aka CV is really value for money liao... My usual complaint is the size of their lenses as compared to the same focal length/aperture r usually much bigger and bulkier. If not I will be solely shooting on the CV 35/1.2 ASPH2 since ages back... for a 35mm focal length that is...

Their new CV 50/1.5 is a beautiful lens too...

haha actually the CV lenses are quite compact compared to their peers. for example the 15F4.5, 21 4, 35f1.4, 40F1.4, 28F2, just to name a few. The ones that are really big are the ones "faster" then the competition, which is the 35F1.2 which no one else has, 21F1.8 (leica 21 1.4 is bigger). 50F1.1 also smaller then the notilux hehe....

my advise on these lense, don't buy them new. source for them 2nd hand.

Bro, it does look thinner, but hopefully it's a more robust kind of metal. A Black Rapid strap might obviate any potential problem.

Here's the side by side comparison

If you examine closely, the A7r ring looks thinner from this angle, but the ring is also thicker than the Nex7 if you observe from the sides. The ring on Nex7 is wider but not as thick as the a7. So its probably be the same. The base of the NEX 7 ring attachment is also wider than the 7. So I think there is nothing to worry about :)

yeah the ring hole of NEX& is bigger than A7x just worried coz like bro TNTrue I have heavy glass to lug around and I read some user feedback in the internet NEX7 ring would fail after less than a year

Reminds me of the Leica M240 when first launched when they need to recall the M240 to re-fix the lugs after launched. Haha..

Here's some sample pix taken by Elmarit 135... man in FF 2.8 DOF is thin and hard to focus as times and the lens is a bit heavy also hehehe
