Hi Guys,

Can someone help to confirm if you can see time lapse apps in the application list in your camera?

I could see it at playmemories browser but not on the camera.

Did you bought it?

After you purchase it, it will automatically install in your cam & you can see it in your app list.

I bought the apps (1 time payment only) & installed on 3 of my Sony cams.

I bought and had the time lapse app on my A6000 but it is still not supported in A7M2. Got to wait...

Same for Flickr direct upload.

I encountered some issue during the purchase using MAC connect to Camera method. When I use the "download directly from camera" method. I can't see the time lapse apps in the application list but could see other available apps.

Oh! That explain why time lapse apps is not in the application list on my A7II. Thanks!

Yes...RAW support on C1!

I got a Sunwayfoto L-plate (PS-A7II), supposed to be custom-made for A7M2, but...

When fitted on, the side access for micro-USB is totally blocked. Need to unscrew and shift it to extreme. But still doesn't fit the original Sony wired remote release. Also can't fit in the micro-USB for charging...

Anyone has bought a more fitting L-plate which can accommodate the side flaps?

Btw, the vertical grip is in stock in Sony stores at $4XX, no rush to buy yet though.

the sunwayfoto a7II plate is actually for the original A7, just a mark 2 design for the plate hehe....

Hi, I need some advice from the kind members here.
I'm a Pentax APS-C shooter and have the K5IIs and K30. I shoot mainly portraits of my kids, and have a complete set of Limited Primes.
I also have an Olympus OMD EM1 with primes which I'll probably put on clearance if I get the Sony A7II.
Am keen on getting the A7II with the 35/2.8 and 55/1.8 and 24-70/4 Zeiss lenses with a flashgun. It's quite a massive investment. My most used focal length is 75mm and above, and the Zeiss 85/1.8 is not out yet.
I have some Zeiss ZK manual focus lenses (ZK 35/2 and Makro Planar 50/2) and like the Zeiss rendering.
Any advice would be appreciated.
How is the AF for kids indoors? I notice the A7II has zone focusing and not selectable zone like Pentax/Nikon/Canon where I can select a point from the grid. This is important for me for portraits.
Any ex-Pentaxians here? Would appreciate your opinion too.
I would probably keep the Pentax system or downsize in the end...and have a concurrent Sony FE set. Have gotten tired of waiting for a full-frame K mount..

Hi the A7ii can do Wide/Zone/Center/Flexible Spot/Lock-on AF

So i think you notice wrong

Or you never tried the camera

I did try the camera. Flexible Spot is the closest thing to selecting a specific focus point, but is tedious using the directional buttons. I prefer a grid, which is faster.
Like the Pentax K5, where I can select from the 11 fixed focal points. Is there a workaround?

I hope u understand what I'm getting at..

That is for PDAF systems

Mirrorless uses CDAF and some PDAF

Mirrorless cameras' autofocus system work differently compared to DSLR. A7II has 117 phase detection points and 25 contrast detection points, much more than your K5. You can't select these points explicitly. Even if you can, selecting from more than 100 points is also tedious.

You can either use zone or flexible spot [Large] to make the procedure faster.

Basically, I think A7II focus faster and much more accurate than K5 (I used to be Pentax user owning K10D, K5 and K3). If you can work with K5, I don't see why you cannot work with A7II.

If you really want the DSLR style focus point selection, A7II might not be a good choice for you.

Did you buy the 50 makro planar from me?

The AF of the A7 is not fast enough for kids for many situations. You could anticipate, but it will definitely mean missed opportunities. The AF of the A7II is not significantly faster, but there will be also be the A9 next year with even faster AF. I would suggest that you go try out the AF speed of the A7II in the shops with your kids around to get a gauge as fast can be subjective in photography and forums such as this. As a former Pentax user still waiting for the Pentax full frame DSLR, I would suggest that you start your downgrading first as you probably know how Pentax buyers can be.

I am almost complete with my lens after picking up a Nikon-E Mount adapter;

1) SEL2470Z - Landscape, travel
2) SEL35F28Z - Street, portrait (on camera)
3) Nikkor 50/F1.8 - Portrait, street
4) Nikkor 20/F3.5 - Landscape

Still have the Samyang 14mm/F2.8 and Minolta 28mm/F2.8 laying in dry cabinet. Hope to buy a faster prime for 35mm. Too bad Loxia is a manual lens, I prefer AF for street. For portrait and landscape, I can live with MF.
