Sony A33

Want to sell off my a33,is body size not my type.
Not big not small, still like my a550

I think you need to know what you want to use it for before you buy. Personally, in term of image quality, I dont think it can compare to my 5D MK II but that could also be due to the fact that I am using a kit len on the a33.

Image quality aside, I think i will love the camera when i go travelling because I will still get DSLR quality pic with slightly heavier than compact camera weight.

Any list of likes and dislike from current A33 owners??? and those whoowns 2 systems/brands of DSLR any comparision to to IQ over your other system?? I have read reviews just want to get the feel from the consumers and users :)

cheers

a33 is too small and the battery capacity is very pathetic.

a33 is too small and the battery capacity is very pathetic.

300 or so pictures on single charge is quite reasonable and common among bridge, mirrorless and pns cameras.

If you use A500/550 with full time liveview, you also the most get 500 pictures, but A500/550 is very much bigger than A33/55.

A33/55 is meant to be very small as to showcase the advantage of translucent mirror and EVF.

If it is as big as A5xx, then people will then complain about no advantage of A33/55.

Maybe wait for A77 to have bigger body and battery.

in the first place, Sony already publicly announced that the battery life is about 300 or so, so all of us already know it before we buy....so we can't complain, can we?

:)

The small size is also seen as a plus by many people...

As for the battery life, if you don't constantly review your shots, and you mainly shoot in the day without flash, you can easily hit 400+ shots. Also, there are higher-capacity third-party batteries out now.

Even the oh-so-popular Canon 550D is only rated for 440 shots by the CIPA standard.

Use SSM lenses if you find the focusing noise too loud. You can also try manual focus if it bothers you.

thanks. I'm just getting onto the DSLR band wagon, I'm a novice on lenses, not sure what are SSM lenses.

Welcome to the Alpha family.

SSM lenses are lenses with build in 'Supersonic Motors'. These are usually found in high end lenses offered by Sony. They can focus faster and almost silent as compared to comsumer grade lenses. ;)

or, if in doubt, there's an external mic jack.

i have big hands, skipped the a33 because its too small..

what I like about the camera is that I can hand it to anyone and they are able to handle it.

this was taken by my 10yr old daughter, my amateurish eye thinks it's pretty good.

yes, I'm considering that. but it takes up the flash slot.
why do you need to mount a flash while shooting video anyway? you can remove the mike when you want to use flash.

anyway the external mike is apparently very helpful, even in windy conditions.

one more reason to get the external mic.

disco effect mah, lol

ok jokes aside, does the mic need to be in the hotshoe? got electrical contact to work?

else can mount elsewhere with a little creativity

So another idea for sony to come out a external mic with builtin flash??? ;)
