interesting shots

what lens did you use?

in shot 4 was that somebody's head on the bottom right corner?

for shot 8 - what animal is it? hippo? can't make it out even when zoom in to have a look...

your best shot is shot 13 :)

sorry jsut found out what lenses you used...

also after second look - some parts of your shot 13 need more touching up especially the eye area of the elephant

too bad you couldn't get in close like Christ Weston does (google to find out his website - he's top UK wildlife shooter) thus ending up with quite a bit of heavy cropping...

but overall good attempts as it's not easy to shoot wildlife

cheers :)

Can I ask what kind of lenses did you use and would you recommend?
ie how much zoom is required on a safari like that? would a normal zoom 100-200mm suffice or are we talking crazy money supertelephotos?

Your shots make me wanna to go leh. I have been thinking of it a great deal.

My fav Pic17 - lions frolicking.....

Package trip with Chan Bros, SA or some exotic package?

thanks..... the trip was with chan bros......

thanks.. In shot 4, that is actually another boulder.. i was shooting in between the boulders..
yup, shot 8 is a hippo.. i actualyl had a series, from the hippo raising from under the water and opening the mouth from the beginning to end.. but did not post all up .. cos thats quite a number of pics.. ;)

cant be compared to the profossional wildlife shooter lah.. anyway.. it was only a short 2 hours game drive for 3 different drives.. so can be quite limited.. really need time and luck to spot the animals.. and of cos.. a personalised driver......... ;)

hi .. i was mainly using a 5D, 1Dmk3, 135 f2, 200 1.8, 300 f4 and a 1.4tc for the shots..
a super long lens would defintiely be good, but i would also recommend having 2 cams.. so you dun have to keep switching lenses.. cos some animals might jus come up at closer range..

great series.. thanks for sharing. :bsmilie:

Siew siew siew..

thanks.............. they never engaged each other in the end.. was waiting for a while... then they walked off.. but can see they are still pissed with each other.. ;)

Swee, no horse run for your wild life captures. Which national park is that?
The one i went cannot spot any elephant and managed to see the lions only at night time.
I feel that it is a rather dangerous & exciting drive cos the vehicles are w/o doors.
However, what if the lions attack us suddenly? Dun think the ranger will be fast enough to pull the trigger.
Btw, do u sign a form to declare that the drive is on at own risk?
