i only stayed at the reserve for one nite...
yup.. ranger was with us all the time, no, the vehicle was not for photography only, it was generic,for everyone...

10 close encounter with the elephants as the herd was moving
Whoa.....this must had caused panic among the rank.
The ranger/guide should had known better than to drive in among the
elephants. One panic stricken elephant and it would had caused havoc.
Not a lovely scene to savoured.
Safety aside, I think this shot has potential.
Any close up?

hmm.. in a way yes.. but i guess for game reserves, an element of luck is also necessary.. cos there are times where you will not see any of the animals at all... and there are times, they just keep on appearing...
i guess if one is really into wildlife photography, you will need to really go for a full day game drive, and stay there for a few nites maybe ? to really capture the splendour of the animal kingdom..
i guess it was a bit unexpected.. and i think the last thing the rangers wanted to do was to drive off too quickly, in case it startled the elephants.. so they just stayed there for the elephants to pass..
in fact for my own vehicle, at another game drive, we were in a way surronded by the elephants.. we were watching them from a short distance away.. when 2 of them actually flanked us from the front and back.. it was quite scary actually.. hhaha.. but quite an experience as well..
and they do get real close to us..

haha, i think will take me about 1-2 yrs to save up enough for the trip sia... but will tell u if i plan to go.
