another quake has hit Taiwan, now all circuits including phones are down. we can all help ease the network congestion by laying off trying to get to the overseas sites for now.

I wonder why the cables pass throught Taiwan.

The en-route will be priority to the business users and not the consumers.

I got 2 biz DSL plans at different locations, both also cannot access oversea site ;(

I always pity the SAs. Get blamed for anything and everything that happens related to the internet and computers.

no leh, no one has complain to me about this yet, all must be busy working...those who complain must be those who use MSN or surf net often

heng ah.. fat green pipe can take more flooding before the red pip chokes.. :bsmilie: ;p ;p

green pipe or red pipe... when it comes to going out of sg.. it went into the same pipe.

no operator will lay a single direct pipe to each country... it will all come to some hub or router.

well... it is mother nature... natural disaster... connection do go down. What most important is the database.. make sure no data is lost.. always backup in several locations.

can connect to clubsnap, but can't connect to overseas website now.... xian :(

clubsnap is on local server.. it goes to your underground cables within Singapore only. There is no need for outgoing connection out of Singapore.

However.. if u are in China or Hong Kong.. and wanted to surf Clubsnap.. then u may experience problems.

another quake?!

coz Taiwan was more technologically advanced than China when they laid the cables. They can always lay another cable through China but then they would prob run the risk of people stealing bandwidth. :bsmilie:
I have no problems accessing CS tho I am in Japan, MSN works fine. but then CNA is pain.

Oh... advance.

Damn.. another quake.. where to see the news?

Red cable really sux big time... cannot surf & customer service lines all not working....

its an aftershock about 6 on the scale.

No internet. Low productivity.

Everyone enjoys surfing Clubsnap!

Too many ppl calling to Red Line thus Customer Service Officer is ultra busy.... Relax... thing will go better....

I can check my yahoo mail liao

REd and Green are not the only ones affected. A lot of people with leased lines are also affected.

FWIW, Bloomberg since last night till now also cannot get their service working. So we can only just walk around! No work. But lucky, local surfing still can, post on CS mah..

Your're working in Bloomberg?
My certification classes today got cancelled last minute because of this - ha.
