Sigma announces 35mm f/1.4 DG, 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC OS, 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS lenses

It would be interesting if u can upload a RAW file n allow the CSers to edit in PS6 n u in viewnx n see how the final output is.

Of cos haf to share the process n make it into a PP sharing thread.

the raw file is 60meg. I don't doubt you can get PS6 to give the same quality as viewnx given some time. But that is the point.

ViewNX is so much faster because all the corrections are automatic right out of the box using DEFAULT settings. Basically, the nikon software has all the corrections dailed in

Btw, that is the raw pic without any pp. usually you have to apply some sharpening for pics shot at f1.4

Not just softness. Viewnx can remove LoCA very well. No matter how good the sigma is there is always visible LoCA.

Technically we should be using Nikon raw converter so you should not see pic 1 at all.

Fundamentally it is the pic that counts. I dun care if it is software corrected. Not just the 35mm, my 14-24 is also better using viewnx. Using Nikon lens with Nikon dslr with Nikon raw converter has some adv.

I would assume it is the case for canon as well. Don't canon raw converter has better IQ with canon dslr and canon lens

Oh ok. I agree with you. So much so that i refrain myself from doing so much PP, i have to do some PP with some of the photos to enhance the feel.
I am only using LR4.3 at the moment for the enhancing of my photos, and it is serving me well. CA correction and lens correction in terms of vignetting and etc are quite accurate using LR. :)
Furthermore i am lousy with PS haha, have more to learn using PS to do HDR.
When time allows, i shall see if PS can hasten my process of PP, as compared to LR.

Those thinking of buying from overseas, take note!

If your lens require calibration due to front or back focus, you need to produce local (Sg) invoice and warranty card. Otherwise, it is chargeable between $150-180 each time. In view of the uncertainty of Sigma QC, and the number of times you may need to calibrate your lens, it may not be such a good idea to buy it from outside of Singapore.

Won't this be a moot issue if there is a USB device to calibrate the lens. On a seperate note, can you do micro focus adjustment for the sigma lens on a 5dmkiii?

That's what I thought. Was able to do AF micro tune on 85 1.4. So should be fine with 35 1.4 I guess .

My 6d wasn't able to read the lens details is it normal???
