I won't be screwed by Local Cam Shops any more!!!

If Local Cam Shops don't take note of this they are silly...

FEDEX HK-SG for this lens about SGD 60?
i think the current price about SGD 600 with yahoo's exchange rate (give and take $10 exchange rate spread)

With all honesty, I prefer to test lenses before buying. I am not just talking about Sigma lenses.

Had this wonderful lens with me since last September. It never been off my camera body since then. =)

After looking through the samples on this thread, I have to say that this lens is softer than the Canon when shot at f1.4. However, its bokeh beats the Canon's by a fair margin. Quite impressed by the circular OOF lights produced by this lens. They appear to be even rounder than the 50L's.

think u cannot conclude looking at the pics here. some were showing how oof their shots are. my copy beats the canon one hands down in terms of sharpness at 1.4;P

I was squatting down when I took these. Haha..

This lens doubles up as a good landscape lens too. No wonder some bros said that this lens is fitted on their camera all of the time.

Just sent in my 7D and 50mm f1.4 for calibration at Sigma service centre this morning. 2 hours of waiting time. And i am happy with the results. Some shots tested on the spot before i leave the service centre. :D

All taken at f1.4

Minglink, test it by taking a portrait shot of someone first followed by some landscape and some night shots if you will. Can let me take a look? I am curious what are the improvements that can be made by calibrating this lens. Thanks.

can you do a similar test on the flower u did.

base on the both set of photo here currently, indeed the calibration does make ur lens AF more accurate now :)

i not sure if u fix it on ur 500D will it be blur? wahhaa

Ok, seems like alot of testing request. Haha. ok, i shall do the flower test during weekend. i am also keen in knowing the improvment. But i am so sure that its worth my half day morning leave after i did the testing on the spot. :D

Flower test may yield OOF pictures due to the wind.

hi everyone,

i need your assistance in the following matter:
"how would you guys know that your 50mm f1.4 needs to send for calibration?"
issit due to OOF? or other factors?

and also fellow CSers who bought the lens from tin cheung,
"how would Singapore Sigma know that you bought it from a reputable seller (eg tin cheung)?"

cause for my warranty card doesn't have dealer stamp. i only got the invoice from tin cheung.
so is my warranty void? or just bring the invoice, warranty and lens down for verification?

do advice me on the above matter. thank you so much!!!
