was looking at canon version any ideas?
Give your preferred shops a call to ask? Better still leave your number for the shops to call you when stocks arrive. Reserve a copy upfront.

As a past owner of canon 50mm f1.2 L, I never regret giving up the 1.2 for this 50A.
Built quality and optics surpass the 50L totally
Agree on build quality and, distortion control sharpness at f1.4.
I still kept my 50 1.2L though he he. The softer rendition at f1.2 can't be obtained from the Sigma. Works great for baby shots and when you don't want to do too much Photoshop cleaning up your model's skin/pores/pimples hehe
Should have got the canon mount at Hong Kong which only cost around $950. Finally got it from Parisilk slightly $100+ more. One thing I realize it cannot be registered online for warranty due to Sigma online portal technical issues.
i'm having issues registering my set too. .says already registeredno replies from support yet
I'm not sure if anyone has already gotten their copy, but could someone please confirm if the bokeh of the Sigma is an issue in comparison to cheaper 50mm lenses, like the Canon 50mm 1.4 or Nikon 50mm 1.4. Look at the sample images that slrlounge posted a while back: http://www.slrlounge.com/head2head-sigma-50mm-f1-4-dg-hsm-art-vs-canon-50mm-f1-2
It really seems that the 50mm 1.4 has outdone all the other lenses in terms of IQ, but really lost the bokeh battle. Could someone confirm this thanks.
