Street price is always better then retail price. Be on good terms with your regular shops and get the best prices.
Shouldn't a 50/1.4 of equal quality be much cheaper than a 35/1.4 anyway? The US price is simply a bit more inflated than here this time.

Generally 50 is cheaper than 35, but not the case for sigma art. :-(
Anyway, it seems like 50 art locally is <USD 50 more expensive than 35 art.
Lens makers are just milking us in recent years. When you look at how cheap lenses can be when on sale sometimes in Japan you get the feeling the usual prices are pure fiction.
This lens is the best AF 50/1.4 right now so they have to ask for the highest price no matter how cheap it is to make.

one of the interesting things pointed out was AF inconsistency with APS-C cameras like the 100D and a 70D they tested it with. But AF is labeled as consistent and positive when tested on full frame.

I can't wait for it to arrive in Singapore ): I guess I've to wait till mid July before the next batch comes.
did a couple of comparison of the siggy 50 1.4 art on the 5DM3 at various stops...cropped but unadjusted in LR
f1.4 at 1/1000 ISO 100
f1.8 at 1/800 ISO 100
f2.8 at 1/320 at ISO 100
