Might be a little tight IMHO.

Second that. Get a zoom lens for more flexibility.

Zoom lens do not have such bokeh

There's a lot of way to achieve it. Also, u might wanna re consider as during wedding table shots, u will get guests standing at different distance from u. Front bck row situation will cause some guest to be in your bokeh effect. Unless u are taking only the couple. Get the 17-50 f2.8. It will be more useful, I reckon.

Yes. 1.4 will give you too much bokeh where 2 out of 5 ppl in the photo will be blur by a bit. Noticable blur. But do notice you will be need to use flash gun if its more than f2.0 as u will be indoor under most probably yellow lighting.

How much is DD electronic selling... Don't see any from their web site

Price at dde still best. Bring $500 is enuff.

I have a question. Since most of the owners having issue with the focus, can I just send the lens with my camera straight to sigma for calibration regardless regardless of having a good or bad lens since first calibration is free.

Why not keep it till u really need it since it's not causing problem?

Maybe when u switch to another body or decide to sell it, can use it as a deal sweetener. :)

From what I feel is since sigma can calibrate precisely to yr camera setting why not send it in.

Speaking of calibration, if lets say I buy DDE....can I go to Sigma for calibration or what should I do? DDE do the calibration for me? I am planning to buy and really hope I get the perfect copy on the spot.

Just test your copy at DDE until you find one you're happy with.
Bring along a test sheet/tripod etc…whatever you use to determine it is a good copy.
In any case, DDE will send the lens to a 3rd party person to calibrate for you in the event there's a calibration problem…Honestly, i think the older batches some had this problem. the newer ones aren't so bad…one in a few sets maybe still have but everyone's making it out to be as if it's a 50/50 chance :) I got mine the first set i tried and it was good.

Mine too! Most are gd, dun worry. Most gd copies are not surfaced. Only problematic ones are discussed here. Hahaha

Thank god someone created this topic! I purchased my new 30mm on Sunday and got frustrated with it. I'm glad sigma can fix this problem. Booked the appt for tomorrow. Can't wait...
