Impressive lens

Impressive lens

Its not really impressive. The 24/1.4 is impressive. It is impressive for the price it costs, ~ $550 grey. And if you don't do > 6R and 24" fullscreen, it is impressive.

how much in singapore selling for this lens?

hi guys consider me as a newbie in photography, that is why my question sound out of the blue :)
how should i know if i need to calibrate my sigma 30mm 1.4 lense?

At center focus this lens take sharp pictures.
But if you shift focus point to the sides, its OOF.
Mine, more like back focus. Am pretty unhappy bout this BUT not disappointed.
Called and already make an appointment with Sigma marketing last two day ... :)

Was initially looking to buy nikon 50mm f/1.4 but im really tempted to buy this after drooling at the photos you guys posted.

I visited www.ddelectronics.com.sg but it seems that they are no longer selling this. :( I also went to www.tincheungcamera.com.hk and they are selling for HKD2992.5 which is a really good price since SGD is so strong now.It works out to be slightly more than $500. Im not sure on the shipping price though I hope the total cost will still be within 600. This is still much cheaper than buying from the shops in SG.

Im hoping to gather some comments from any bros who had bought from online. Is it safe? Are Tin Cheung selling grey sets and is there any warranty? Do we need to pay GST when they shipped over? BTW, what do you mean when you mentioned lemons? sorry still a newbie and im not sure of the lingo. :embrass:

Perhaps it is better to buy 2nd hand from BnS section that you can get at a similar price minus the warranty? Somehow it seems that most users bought them first hand. Appreciate any inputs!

@ mushy mushy

As you know by reading this thread,
many of our clubsnaper, have F/B focus issues.
IF your glass bought from our local store,
and wanna send it for calibration, its gonna be FOC.
And FYI, warranty lasted up to 2.5 years
Otherwise, you need to pay $80 from buying grey set.

read somewhere in the 50mm 1.4 thread that they have increased the calibration charges to $150~

Amazing handheld photo.

Made up my mind liao, to get the 24/1.4.

i got both lenses.. for night performance the sigma is slightly better as in AF speed and sharpness.. But for day shot the 24mm wins hands down... I got many keepers for sigma 30mm but very very less on the 24mm.. perhaps i am a newbie thats why:bsmilie:
