difference is huge if you can tell. this lens is a keeper if you get it nicely done.

go to the shop, request for a few copies of the lens to test it out. take a couple of shots at is minimum focusing distance. like my first shot. test out a different f-stops. 1.4, 1.8, 2.0, 2.8 and 3.5. these are the 4 i normally test.

after which you should test the lens at 3metres and beyond. i had problems with the back focusing, so images 3m and beyond was not focused properly. also, test with all 4 f-stops.

sometimes, even tho you test, it will still have minor problems which the sigma svc centre can fix for u. i got it fixed just ytd. (:

well done, after caribration was very sharp with wide open.very good
i have sigma 50/1.4,look the pic just like ur befor caribration,i buy last year,i think need to take time to go for adjust .still under warranty.i buy local set 2.5yrs warranty.

Any bro and sis here using D80 od D300 body with this lens ?
can show some sample here ... tang cue ... :embrass:

Hah...someone finally let the cat out of the bag. Yes, 30mm/1.4 can somewhat do some nightshots nicely. Something different from UWAs which can also somewhat do nightshots.

Just an impromptu shot to document the low clouds. 1/20, 1.4, ISO 1600. Handheld

IQ is usable for 4R photos, and definitely a-ok for facebook etc. :bsmilie:
If you want better then be prepared to spend like 4X more.

My very first photo. Image taken while at OP.
Was taken at F1.4.
I know its under EXpose. Its not even PPed. Just size reduced.
I personally like this picture cause if you can see 6 human images doing different actions ... maybe its just me who hv this feeling ... :dunno:
