wanna ask if theres any postprocessing done to your pics besides resizing?

minimal colour adjustment. no sharpening, sharpness is out of camera. so yeah. and my apologies, the second one was shot @ 1.8 instead of 1.4 =P

Has anyone bought a grey set and has focusing issues?

Does the shop calibrate the lens for you?

the shop will not do calibration most of the time. u gotta bring it down to to the distributor.

Some pictures below as promised. I was told that this lens is only good in portrait range. I decided to try out with focusing at infinity... Target:LA Airport New Control Tower... day and night.

make sure you dont have the following problems which are common to sigma lenses:

1) front/back focusing. go and google for a focus test chart to test this

2) Left side softer than right side and vice-versa. You can use a real world test for this or use the standard newspaper test for this.

It costs about US$60+ to ship it alone as opposed to, say, getting 3 lenses for US$87 on shipping. Good time to get stuff from there actually now that US$ is down.

B&H looks like an interesting alternative. I was looking at the Canon 5D. Do you know if we still need to pay GST when the item arrive??

After my trip to the U.S.A. with below 0 Deg C Temperature, I can hear squeaking sound when the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is focusing in a silent room. I cannot hear it when I am outdoor or when the TV or Radio is on. It sounds like the lens needs some oil!! Is this OK or Should I send it back to the service centre? Thanks for your comments.
