interesting that US is selling the 24 art cheaper than the 35. In the initial press previews/hands ons reviews i remember they mentioned the 24 will be priced in between the 35 and the 50 art.

I believed Art 35 initial launch was at least $1.1-1.2k.
Probably can wait for price to stabilise as first batch will always cost more.

I tend to see sigma Art lenses as better for static subjects or landscapes, which i think the 24mm 1.4 will be good for. AF performance is always a step behind canon originals in terms of accuracy, speed and tracking. This is speaking from experience from owning the 35 art and 35L, 50 art and 50L previously. In the end i kept the sigma lenses and sold the canons due to the value and impressive image quality of the sigmas.

hehe....when you are in a pinch and dont have a tripod F1.4 can help. Also useful for astronomy when you can't afford shutter speeds taht are too long

oh yes....i just played with the 24 1.4 at one of the local shops with a 5D3.
the lens AF is quite fast and accurate. not too sure why the reviews complained it was slow. Feels faster than the Sigma 35 1.4 Art in terms of AF. the IQ is really good even at F1.4 in the centre 2/3rds of the frame. outer corners and vignette performance becomes rather good by F4

Bro ricleo, no doubt its a winner.
I was at the shop testing the Sigma 50 1.4 DG. Meanwhile, one of the sales guy asked if I want to try the 24 1.4 DG.
Frankly, I was no very happy with the performance of 50 1.4, its not as sharp as the Sigma 35 1.4 which I used to have.
After the first shot of 24 1.4, I was very very impressed with the sharpness. Its even sharper than Sigma 35 1.4. But also note that I tested all 3 lenses on my 7D2. The 24 1.4 on APSC becomes a 36mm and so I told myself maybe I should give it a try and hence the lens followed me home

You should thank your lucky stars that the 24 is priced this low. Usually at focal lengths shorter than 50mm, the wider the lens the more expensive it gets...

actually when i went to a local shop. they quoted me the 24mm at a lower street prices vs the 35mm sigma art.
And you think US prices have much to do with Sigma or Tamron pricing here?
In facts, here is cheaper.
