Control wise what 5n doesn't have as compared to 7. Is 7's control whole lot better?
Ah boss. Maybe you can read one of the many NEX-7 reviews. The control layout is really quite different.

rawNature said:price will definitely drop, but not much from the way Sony controls it.They would make the item obsolete than to sell at even lower price.
it is like now you can buy NEX-5 with lower street price, since Nex 7 is finally readily available.
Nex 7 street price will go lower a bit once NEX-6, NEX-8/9 is out. But at that time you would be asking the same question whether Sony will drop NEX-6, NEX-8/9 price lower. It never ends.
So, if you like it, buy it & enjoy using it for years to come.
5N only advantage is the touch screen which works superb for manual focus.
The rest I think 7 wins.

and also the ISO I think.
BTW, I'm a newbie can anyone explain how does focus peaking works.
Yap it's like what you mentioned, the screen will magnify the area where you touch. For example if you wanna focus bottom right, you touch bottom right, focus and fire.Never used the 5n before. Just wondering why is it superb for manual focus?
I'm assuming here, correct me if i'm wrong, is it because so you can touch on area you want to focus on, and the cam will zoom in (MF focus Assist)?
If that is so, i find that the nex 7 with EVF works much better n faster. I set the AF/MF button to MF Focus Assist on 'hold mode'.
So when i need to MF a specific point, i look throught the view finder, hold the AF/MF button to zoom in, focus, release, compose shot n fire off.
Feels the closest to my leica M6. Like on the M6, split focusing, you would need to move the focus box in the middle over the object you want to focus, then recompose when done.
Still exploring the possible combinations on customising the controls best suited for my needs. Currently figuring how i can 'lock' or remove the up/down/left/right/ buttons of the main control dial. I find it too 'soft' and easy to turn that settings will get change unnoticed.
Cheers

For Nex 7, how do you choose an area to magnify lets say the bottom left corner? Is it the same as the other Nex by moving the cursor manually using the dial?
Another advantage for 5N is the touch focus which I think is really good too.
Need to try out the Nex 7![]()
I see then it is the same as the other Nex(s).Not sure, i think you can move the cursor over to where you want. Alternatively, you just put your subject in the center of frame, then focus.

Yes you can move the cursor with the two scroll wheels. Thou I find it faster to move my camera, focus lock and move back

Are sure about that? I thought every camera in that price class has that option today.
check this out, Nex 7 + Zeiss 24mm
I love the design for that lens~~ Stylish BLACK!.
Unlike the other, =) the reason i think worth for Nex-7 than Nex-5n is mainly because of the design, i feel like Nex-5n is too light for me, when my first view on the Nex-7 i can say i'm truly love in first sight, although some feature is remain the same with Nex-5n, but Nex-7 body and the size really attract me.
2) I don't like touch screen(Seriously)~ the Sony T-Series camera always bring trouble to me cause i always touched de screen by mistake, so i dont want a touch screen camera.
3) I feel paying extra for a built-in EVF & flash is definetely worth, i can save the slot for other thing (better mic/flash).
=/ but no Usb3.. but i dont think its necessary haha
