Compared to my Sony a77 and 70-400mm, the gx1 with 100-300mm does not allow too much cropping. Noise shows. For feather details, seems to me ISO should be below 800. Sharpness of 100-300mm is really not that of primes or your 100-400mm. Must step down a little to get sharpness, especially if you are not filling the frame. BIF would be tougher. Plus points are the video, portability and af for static shots. When it's fast, it's really fast. But when it hunts, can be quite terrible. Manual focusing on 100-300mm is slow. If there is a prime telephoto then the game would be different. You can see the posts on this page and it shows!
Get Sony one also can mah! Lol. Honestly I think it depends on how well you get to understand the system. You can see many amazing results in this thread.
U know my timing is a little tough. Now still a little dry season. Can get a few ppl to confirm if we can have one soon.
Sama sama haha. perhaps when microcosm is back we can have one.
Black-Shouldered Kite - taken with ultimate reach possible on 4/3 Olympus system (300mm F2.8 + 2TC giving 1200mm equi) but on EM-1. Remarkably sharper image even at 30% crop.
