[ Showcase ] - Images from Olympus Micro 4/3 cameras

I have been venturing a little bit more into black and white photography with the OM-D cameras (EM-1/5)
So here are some images that I enjoyed shooting and processing.

love the grainy texture in this one.

Regardless how fast does a city move in urban development, poverty is still major concern. She had to survive through leftover food from the recycle cans. Maybe urban uprise is more successful when the wealth gap is in balance.

Beautifully done B+W. Can share how to post process to get this result?
Or can it be the result straight out-of-camera from the OMD?

Very nice.
Does LR5 have a special RAW conversion routine for OMD EM-5?
Then what about the new OMD E-M1?

Hi ricohflex, thank you for your compliment!

Lr5 does not have any special RAW conversion routine for OMD EM-5, it support E-M1 in the latest version.
We can process RAW file captured to each liking.

In Lr5.3 version, Adobe add colour profiles for Olympus camera, great!

I don't think the results can easily to replicated in camera, though you can get similar results if you shoot with "monochrome" setting.

My workflow can get a little crazy... it involves...

RAW -> RAW converter (Viewer/Capture One/Aperture/Adobe ACR, one of them) -> Photoshop CS6 and the image is broken up into layers for treatment, and them re-compiled again as a single image. Involves changing channels information and using lab colors within Photoshop -> Nik Software to add artifacts to taste.

tomboy87: Re: Moving Generations. Superb capture. Great smooth colours and tonality.

pkong1008: Liking the whole series. But the bokeh in the cactus close up is a bit 'nervous'. How do you find the bokeh generally?

Hi, swifty,
This my first outing with this lens. So you can take it as a trial run and testing how it will perform. If I'm going for a nice bokeh, I think I will use a prime lens. This is the lens I would bring along for my "walk around" second lens with the Pana 12-35mm in my travels with the m4/3 system. So far I'm quite pleased with it. Will post more shots taken with this lens of the Grand Canyon when I have the time.

Excellent shots from Olympus m43 shooters!
