My Humble K-r. Nice to meet fellow Pentax bros.

Hi bro Yamakasi, I order it from GizmoBuy, took 3 weeks to arrive after paying up front. Almost thought I won't get it. Now hunting for a 18-250mm to match it but still no luck in getting one.

I think a red rubberband will complete the 'L'ook.

Tada! :bsmilie:

I just got the K-5 today, together with the Sigma 8-16/4.5-5.6, DA*16-50/2.8 and DA*50-135/2.8. The shop had no stock for the DA35/2.8.

Oh yeah. Is the zoom ring for the DA*16-50 tight? Cos mine is. Even the shop's display copy feels the same too. It gets tighter as you zoom in, especially between 28-50mm. Is this normal?

Wow, one shot settle everything you need! From 8mm to 135mm + body!

Don't have my 16-50mm with me now, but I think you're referring to how the zoom ring feels a bit heavy, like there's quite a bit of resistance. I think it's due to the extension of the barrel with the big glass elements in it, and the extra resistance at longer focal is due to the second segment of the barrel extending as well. I noticed a similar situation with the Sigma 18-200mm superzoom. The 50-135mm zoom feels lighter as it's internal zoom so the weight is better supported, and the inner elements are significantly smaller anyway. At least, that's my guess.

That's what I precisely mean. A little "tight" to zoom in. And I'm fearful of the SDM failure, up to one point in time I was contemplating to avoid the DA*s and go 8-16, 17-50/2.8, 28-75/2.8, 70-200/2.8. But the temptation of owning a DA* lens is too great. Haha.

Update: Now with picture.
