Nik, the background is quite blur. this kind of pic no need bokeh. Its best that u can pump up the aperture to the smallest number for sharper image.

Just my 2cents chekopek.

bro.. this is too much for me to handle...
*jizzed in my pants*

Ah. Just managed to "complete"* the set yesterday only actually. Paid some heavy price, in terms of hassle and conflicts with my wife, to acquire the set. But I suppose this shall be my proudest and final collection. <: Long-live LBA! lol.

*Missing the 21, 28 and the two makros (But I am not a macro-lens person).

Gang of Five

This is... sinful :o Even though I already know about this collection, it still scary to actually see it. :D

Yeah, I think it's quite a sinful collection too but the poison is just too strong to resist. I could have waited for a while more and acquire them slowly actually but the fact that the ZK series have been discontinued meant I have no time to waste... She was supportive but I think the situtaion got a bit out of hand. :bsmilie: But I think it's really the last - can't quite think of a more lustable set.

What about leica? hahahaha

Hmm... Now that you must bring this up. Ha. I had considered it. Truth is, I was pretty poisoned by Leica but as I "researched" my options, the way I got into Pentax, I found that Leica prices are really very marked up for what they are worth. Considering the M-mounts, Zeiss have very decent offerings at a fraction of the Leica prices and I have read that Zeiss built are sometimes even better than Leica whom sometimes scrimp on production costs with plastics and barrels may feel slightly less well-built (wobbly)! Of course, there's also the el cheapo (doesn't mean bad) Voigtlanders that give alot of bang-for-bucks. Ok, I am digressing here.

All in all, I have come to respect the Zeiss a lot. In fact, they are the first makers of lenses (am I right?) and have been a permanent rival of Leica. Yet they give me a no-nonsense and down-to-earth kind of feel. So, I am a Zeiss fan. Ha. And yeah, let's forget about the silly overpriced Leica-Rs which need mount conversions.

Are those the 18f3.5, 25f2.8, 35f2, 50f1.4 and 85f1.4? There are rumours that there may be a 135f1.8 and possibly an APO 180f2. Together with the recently released 35f1.4, the 21f2.8 and a posible revised 25f1,4, you should switch to either Canon or Nikon to enjoy the full range and the real potential of these lenses on FF bodies. But what you own is already the envy of most. I thought when I switch to Pentax, I can stay away from such poisons, but it seems to be everywhere.

Spot on! You are sharp. ;)

Oh yeah, that 35mm f1.4 is indeed lovely but that really cost an arm and leg for me. Unfortunately, those Zeiss are native k-mounts - I can't use them on Nikon and Canon. And I am a self-declared Pentax die-hard! No Nikons or Canons for me. :bsmilie: Also, I noticed that the Zk's are really much nicer than the ZE's and ZF's. The ZE's shape are usually less flattering while the ZF's have that ugly metal rabbit ears popping out.

Simple, as you mentioned that you didn't have any of the 2 MPs, and you were still eyeing the 21f2.8, so what's left. Yes, the ZE versions are bulky. I thought of the 35f2 before I bought the 31 Ltd because I owned the ZE version before. Now that I have the 31 Ltd, apart from being too zeissiness, I think the 31 Ltd is slightly better. Sure would like to see some of your photos on all these 5 lenses as I may have options for the 50f1.4 and 85f1.4.

 Very nice collection! You can almost buy the 645D with that kind of outlay.

Picked up this beauty from Frank last night.
