Wow nice colour. N it look so mint.

Recent itch of LBA got me going back to film cameras.
Maybe its to make up for the envy of all those gorgeous cameras I could not afford when I was a kid. :)

Got me a FED2 (reputed to be made by child labor and criminals in the Soviet Union in a commune started up by the founder of the KGB). Gorgeous camera and arguably the best FSU rangefinder. Certainly built to last.
Now, before the moderator deletes this post as non Pentax related. Let me get back to the Pentax side of the story. :)

The thing that got to me after seeing and handling the FED2 was that a Pentax ME Super is smaller (discounting smaller RF lens), lighter (but as well built (in fact better built)) and comes with a bit more in creature comforts. The mirror slap did not come up as sounding louder than the cloth curtain shutter on the FED. In other words, it throws out two arguments for RF cameras. One, that they are smaller; Two, that they are more silent.
Well, it turns out not be be always the case as is here.
Not dissing the FED2 in anyway, though. It is to me very beautiful and usable in its own right.
Just have to appreciate how different approaches were used to achieve the same thing (ie. take photos) :)
Not to mention the 20-30yr cam between the 2 cameras

wah...the new/old/new xiaobai! It really looks very elegant. But the back part is a little too bland in my opinion. maybe they could have embossed the Pentax Logo on it..:)

My MG(1982 same age as me) and Super Program (1983)

Both gotten from the same owner. The MG is considered looking mint. Got the camera together with the BOX/Manual and even the accessories.

Hi Salleh,
Always great to buy a retro classic that has spent most of its time in storage and it looks as if it was manufactured yesterday! Nice addition to your collection. BTW, at the top right corner of your MG, it looks like a loose bolt/screw?

That is the turn handle for the rewinding of the film

ahh...Thanks Felix. I thought those levers are normally full retracted when not in use? :)

The film rewind lever of Super Program is similar except it view from different angle.:)
