wow this lens is interesting.. care to shed more light on it jon? it's nikon s mount?

looks like it has an internal leaf shutter, how does that work?..

Hey bro Robin, MIJ man!!!

Jon, sorry didn't get to meet up with you when you were in town last time. Hope to do so next time. Say Hi to Benny for me!

No worries, we'll catch up one of these days! I gotta drop Benny a line now that I'm back in Japan!

Pretty cool looking lens, eh :) It's a collapsible pre-war (circa 1933-38) uncoated Tessar 5cm f2.8 for Contax cameras. The aperture mechanism looks very leaf shutter-ish but the lens works just like your Sonnar 50/1.5 on the adapter. I'll probably get some slight back focusing at MFD on my Nikon -> Leica adapter but the lens only cost me 70 Euro so not worth buying the correct adapter for it. Then again, if I start buying other Zeiss lenses...

U r finally back..how is de trip Jon?

Yup! Was an really fun trip!!! And I'm happy to report trouble free as well. :)
Now to develop and scan all the film (about 40 rolls)

oh dear, shouldn't have asked.. now I've something new to keep an eye out for.. must make good use of that expensive adapter..

btw I've got a replacement from Amedeo for the previous adapter which was giving me back focusing issues, which solved the problem.. much better now, any blur shots wide open now is probably my fault.. :bsmilie:
