Jon, the photos of the SP are disgustingly beautiful. They should not be allowed to poison us...NO.....NO...G A S..

The nikon rf seems a little weird..the patch is fuzzy...the rf window is smaller....but then again i shoot faster with it...and i can get the images aligned quicker than my m2...

i wish there will be a day...i get my hands on a nikon sp...haha

those selenium reading fine after all these years?

Hi Bro

Initially i thought it was dead when i was unpacking it at home..so i brought my meter along with me the next day to shoot something..and then i realized it was moving...
Its pretty accurate thou :)

I think the previous owner had it look after well...the camera was quite clean...

Hi Jon, many months back, i recalled that you posted a picture taken from this lens...borrowed from benny???
And so happened, someone posted this lens and camera on RFF asking for more info...i wasnt the first to spot that thread...but i had the chance to buy it...:)

Now i had a hard time finding info on this lens. Was this a kit lens meant for Canon P?

Hi Jackson, do you mean the 50/2.2 lens? I think it was only sold in Japan but was not sold for long. Not sure if it was sold with the Canon P...

jon - might you have a shot of the Nikkor-N 5cm 1:1.1?

i searched around, but could only find the SP on popflash together with e 35mmf/1.8... it was there yesterday... gone today!! unfortunately, not by me...

So you were the one who ended up with this.... I was tempted but....

Anyway, this lens was sold only with the Canon P and for a very short time. Hence it's very rare and often sought after by collectors. Most other shooters shun it thinking that a faster aperture is more desirable. As a day lens, this lens is great.

Enjoy your lens. And if you change your mind about keeping it, let me know. A mint copy can command more than a 50mm f/1.4 or even 50mm f/1.2.

Cheers,

this seriously looks like something illegal...

Yes. I plead guilty. They are all Canon rangefinders. I tried so hard to quit and stay away, but in the end, the temptation is too great and I succumb...again.

Cheers,
