best of cannot expect is you're paid to do makeovers for $30... :bsmilie:

Lol... ...U mean to say that photogs paying organizer $30 to do make-overs for the models, so that the organizer can use that make-over photo to publicise for the next shoot?

If a lot of make-over required, then might as well call this a "Make-over tutorial" or "workshop". I personally know a photog who simply enjoys doing make-overs, and truly does an impressive work!

well said bro, but seriously I'm wondering how these XMM get the idea to ask for MUA, bridal outifts, special theme etc. Must be ANTM at work...
somebody must ever make such offer to XMM before lar, and some of these XXM see liao, though every photographers also offering such "incentive" lar..

We are talking about $30 photoshoot, right?

When you pay peanuts, expect to get a monkey. Sometimes, you get a hippo if you are real lucky.

lol... quality control ma :)

Do I have to raise a non-conformance form and issue a corrective actions for the organisers for not making the customer criteria?....If the subject's feature is not so good, should I raise a permanent corrective actions as continuous improvement? I believe in one control.....the subject's and organiser's self improvement. If things are not good, try and improve them. In the end, this is for customer's satisfaction. :)

If all else fails, you can still RMA... :bsmilie:

Some tattoos are nice, as art, but the majority are poorly done or maintained....
but generally speaking, in the modeling business, yes, any tattoo is a body defect!

i don't mind ethnical pattern tattoo on the waist of sexy girl :bsmilie:

but I'm pretty sure that the XMM that photographers offer such "incentive" must have the calibre or potential to carry it off, unless there are lot who are doing charity work..

LOL... side-topic, I was pretty surprised to see a 13-year xmm asking for TFCD shoots few days ago... well, I suppose some do believe that talents should be nurtured from a young age.. or perhaps that's a separate topic =p

Well, a few months ago, a 13 year old sent me sample pics of a model rolling around in just white bed sheet and asked me to do the same for her. I said i am sorry, I cant do; Still need my backside for sitting down.

That being said, there are many 15 - 16 years who never applied makeup in their life requesting MUA to be provided for their VERY FIRST photo shoot.

Don't understimate the profitability of $30 photoshoot... I was told (by models themselve) that newbie models get paid like $10/hr (fashion) or $15/hr (bikini) or $20/hr (lingerie) if I recall correctly. At $30 per photog for a 2 hr fashion shoot, and assuming a 6-1 ratio, that's $150 profit or 750% gross margin. More shockingly, I heard of newbie models being asked to join these shoots for "training" or "TFCD" while organizer charges the photog...that's like taking a "sample" or "not for sale" product and selling it to customers!

my advise to them is.. hollywood secrets at Suntec City, $50 for hair and make-up. it's a worthwhile investment.... let's face it, if u want to look good, nothing comes for free...

yes, but it already became a norm, a catch 22 situation...

if photographer don't offer "incentive", can't get models for TFCD...
models only offer TFCD to photographer offer "incentive"......
the quality of work already throw out of window.

Actually it's relatively easy to get a MUA and stylist to collaborate on a TFCD for the benefit of both models and photographers... but I suppose model must realize that it's not to be taken for granted.

oops... time to change nick loh =p (another trade secret revealed)

Here's another trade secret.

Recently, a model was asked to do a trial shoot. 6 photographers, 3 hours AND $0 pay. If you cant get TFCD, call it a trial. :)

another trade open secret: after a few trial/TFCD sessions, model will be looking for paid shoots at $100-$150/hr using CS, modelmayhem, onemodelplace etc.

This certainly deserves a separate thread... at the risk of being banned eternally from group shoots =p

i think you should do something more productive rather than spending so much time on forums.

I worked with a CEO before and his English sucks, but he getting more than $40k per month.

So get a life, stop making fun of people already. You another thread about defect also very mean. :thumbsd:

senior.....
Hey bros ....

this Mr Ninelives think that I am very mean by starting this thread and that I am making fun of people here ....

I would want to ask if anyone here think the same like him, and if so, I would like to close this thread as I didn't think I have written anything so far that has pinpointed anyone or has demeaned anyone ....

I only wanted organizers to be more responsible in their advertising in their shoots ....:dunno:
