Wow SLR Revolution is really trying to create revolution... Was there few hours ago to buy AFD 50mm f1.4. He took one from the display but saw some oil stain and I requested for a new one. He did it without any complain. Price is really the lowest u can get in sg. $514! Good work... will probably include into the quotation request list for my next purchase.

Yup! My experience with SLR was also good. First visited the shop when it was only 2 days old. Asked around on prices of Tamron 17-50mm and Ixus200 and was pleasantly surprised that their quoted prices was good :) But dint buy during that visit.

Went back second time and bought the Ixus from them 2 weeks later. pleasant experience:thumbsup:

definitely a better place to buy than the other established shops in Penisular Plaza. Support SLR Revolution!

I totally agreed. I have been there and like their service. Furthermore, their price is quite competitive.

I've been on CS for quite sometime now but never did much posting. As I worked quite near FN, I always take opportunity to lunch there.
I'm so glad that I finally found a shop which gives good price and practically advice! In fact I did a test on them!

Day 1, I walked in and enquired on the MB-D80 grip for my D90. This grip was out of stock in J316 and AP-FN. Guess what? They had stock and I got it at $198! Amazing! J316 and AP-FN quoted me prices which was way over! So my test came. I wanted an extra batt for the grip and they quoted me $49w/GST! Thinking it mght be a ploy to gain new customer ground, I decided against buying it there and then.

Day 4, I had the chance to visit the shop again. Obviously the guy didn't quite remember me. And I enquired about the price again. Surprisingly, he quoted me the same price!
I promptly bought it from him. He adds about 1% extra when dealing with NETS and about 3% extra for credit cards.

So thumbs up!

yeah i got to agree that their price is competitive.
i enquired the price of nikon 50mm f1.8 and they quoted me $x which is about $10 cheaper than others. consistent pricing, actually wanna get from them but need it urgently and they no stock, if they had it, i'll def get it from them. will patronize them in the future when need arise. :D:thumbsup:

i am always very objective about such things.

and I have to say that SLR Revo left me a very very pleasant impression.

i visited the shop just a few days after it opened. prices that they quoted me were very competitive. not to mention that the people there are very friendly.

Goes to show that they're no hacker shop  Think its either their battery prices are very off, or its very cheap nikon original batteries :bsmilie:

wanted to buy the EF28mm f/2.8 and was quoted $310 cash price. it is $40 cheaper than the cash price at Cathay Photo.

I got curious with this shop since i read this thread, so I give a try to call SLR revolution just now to inquire about the price of 50mm 1.8. I was amazed at the seller, he say no stock but he gave the the price, he even tell me more about this lens that it wont AF in d60, d5000 and ask my model so he can assists me.

Over the phone good service already. I think is one shop that will have a good future in this business..

Win. But like i said, would they give the same services for our lenses like J3:16 when things dont go well with the lens? ;p

Just called them for a few quotes! Price is !!!

From wat i know John 3:16 does not stamp the warranty card thus giving customer allowance to test run for one week or so....wat happen to those items that customers rejected? The next walk-in customer get it? Is it just like recycle bin...keep on trying, until it's really sold off?

Just curious hope bros dun mind me asking stupid question;p

Glad to know another good service oriented camera shops coming up. Im really really feeling bad about the SLS camera shops and now told myself i would never ever visit camera shops at SLS (except for OP).

Here's what I think about the shops around:

OP - nice and friendly people. language is a little bit of a barrier since i do not speak chinese. really good price as well. great place to shop.

MS Color - best price in town IMO. good/decent service too. but the location is the problem. I dont go to AMK that often.

John 3:16 - I've never bought anything from them. visited them before, and definitely great great service. Price isnt their best strength. But very friendly and genuine.

CP - The price is not as competitive as other shops anymore., and the service needs to improve (especially some of those old uncles), but they have the most variety of items in town.

The small shop opposite CP - oh, that was a surprise. they have loads of tripods and camera bags, and the price is really reasonable, and the uncle there is very patient and nice. price is usually cheaper than CP. few varieties though, since its a small shop. but its all worth dropping by.

AP - ah, i can forget about that place. personally, not a very good experience.

And almost all the rest of the shops at SLS - mostly bad experiences; i walked in, ask for the price of an item, they quote a price, then when i walked out they asked me how much i can pay. I hate that kind of services to the core. :thumbsd:

well, all of those above are just my personal opinions.

agreeable... another pt to add to MS Color is
I dun like the young guy and girl manning the shop when Florence is not around. They got the "hey what u wan? and dun waste my time" kinda face. Got 1 time i called to ask abt the lens and the young girl pick up. She just say "mei you" (don't have) in chinese. I ask when will stocks arrive. She just reply by 1 word "bu zhi dao" (don't know) in chinese. I was pissed with the kinda "bo chup" (don't care) attitude... I patronize the shop only for the sake of Florence. The other older guy wasn't that bad. Only the young doesn't cherish customer relations. Anyway SLR Revo is here to compete... really makes me reconsider my options. Afterall, we're talking about expensive equipment here... price+service (basic) desired.

picked up a 430ex II for 470 plus minus a few dollars as well!

I dont want to mention which shop, the busy shop lost two sales:
i) waited more than 15 minutes, nothing ...everyone too busy. Price (in between serving) was also not good..have to deal in cash; another time...no one attended to me; you are right...they really sayang certain categories of customers.
ii) bought canon 50D from challenger (believe me...this was a good deal, and service)
bought 7D from AP (service temperamental..sometimes good, sometimes they not so good; bought as the service guy was good)

Will try SLR revolution and see.
