i just helped my friend scan her provia400x slides on an epson v700.
and i am encountering this problem with digital ice.
when digital ice is turned on there it seems to end up removing some colours on the highlight areas. has anybody encountered this problem? or is digital ice not compatible with provia 400x? thanks.
samples (100% crop of a leaf/sky area):
without digital ice - colour is ok, but dust not removed

with digital ice (speed) - blotches are evident

with digital ice (quality) - note the circularish blotches

they're not newton rings cos film not touching scanner, and the blotches are also absent when not using digital ice. thanks to anyone who can help.
How about cleaning the film first before scanning?
