So inspired by max's sonnar, I just picked up a Zeiss Sonnar-C 50/f1.5 this evening:sweat:
Max - mine is optimsied for 2.8 as well. I'm thinking of sending it back for recalibration.

Wow, so fast!!!! Enjoy the lens, try it before you send it to Zeiss, you might like it optimized for f2.8 and it is quite easy to compensate for the focus shift. This lens performs best at f2.8, that's where the colours and bokeh pops up! If you change it to f1.5 you might spoil it...

Yes, the vignetting was added in Lightroom.

Wongsan, Max has a point. It not so hard to compensate as I've shown you earlier on chiff's ear. Maybe you should just play with it for a while before you decide.

Yeah...I will play with it for a while...I hate sending my lens away...
I've always wanted to get a Zeiss Sonnar-C...was thinking about it yesterday when a black one appeared in CS...would prefer a chrome and optimzed for f1.5. Max's sonnar series just pushed me over the cliff and quicken the purchase;p
