That was what I thought about the Canon50mmf1.2 until I got this last copy. I always love the Canon50f1.2. Passed my original copy to a friend as he kept 'blaggering' me for it after we went out for a shoot last Christmas. Found myself another one a few weeks ago & realised that this one is mighty sharp wide open & contrast is not that soft especially if you've nailed the focus. This copy that I have now actually front-focuses just that tiny bit which I can compensate for.

I sold mine cause the contrast is to low to my liking.
Looking at your pictures I am starting to miss this lens.

Ben's canon 0.95 convented to M mount.

Smooooth... bokeh, tack sharp when you nailed it...nice... a bit like 50mm Summilux ASPH but less contrasty...is that right, gommy?

Hmm... trying to imagine how is the feel of using a battered M6 with an old Elmar lens...in a calm white snowing ground....must be a very clean and peaceful experience....nice composition..
