what kind of shutter is it using? The bokeh look so different from the SLR lenses where the bokeh tends to take on a hexagonal shape. here it seem to spilt the leafs at the top of the picture into streaks.

The Kodak Aero Ektar Lens and The Speed Graphic

if i'm not wrong, the lens doesn't have a shutter but a set of nice iris aperture blades, which make the bokeh looks so unique and nice. I guess that's why mamypoko is using a speed graphic;p

BTW, the lens is so huge like a monster. what's the weight of the lens alone?

oh....just check the prices on ebay ..it is not cheap! and it is huge.
but interesting .

trolley gang is not enough then!1
you will need a crane ..maybe just a forklift.

Lolz, I might really need 1. Currently on a BIG project idea.

Yes, I'm using the Speed Graphic because of that lens, I think its about 2kg with the hood? Haven't really measured it yet though!

You mount the lens on the tripod and the camera to the lens?

I already have problem with Copal 3 lenses....

You don't need a Speed Graphic to mount a Aero Ektar.

Yup, i think some people mount it on a Sinar with the built in shutter, or they can mod the Ektar to accept #5 shutter but thats quite rare now. One more alternative was a Graflex SLR 4x5, but its really bulky.

Haha, i mount on lens board then put on camera, i think i got the lens weight wrong, can bring along tmr if you want to look at it!

Ok, no scanner but trying out shoot using macro on light box.

Got back some 4X5 B&W from Fotohub. Sadly, full of scratches, severe scratches, and killed one of the frame (open dark slide and refused to admit).

Valid reason to BAN Fotohub for B&W and do self develop.

why no good? good enough for web presentation.
how many sec exposure is this ?

Brother Kang, Zguy and Mamypoko

Film Ilford 125 D76 at 20C develop, constant agitation.
The whitish hue at the bottom corners were due to the light box.
The film is even, total darkness despite long exposure.
Lens has a hood and also stacked with a Hoyo Super HMC 81C.

For the Shenton way shot
Exposure 1: F22 1min (very under)
Exposure 2: F32 4min

For the MBS shot
Exposure 1: F22 1min 30 sec (very under)
Exposure 2: F32 4min

I will try 5 min at least next time. ;)

For the D camera to capture the film, F11 at between 1/10 to 1/30. Depends on the film intensity.
Then use Photoshop to get the auto balance. Take a few to choose for best darkness.

I really like the composition of the japanese garden shoot here.

Posting one unsuccessful still objects image.

Composition works for me as well, reminds me of another picture I saw but can't remember the name of it.

using ambient light? reflective surfaces are always a challenge to light. can try to use small white card or mirrors to better control the light.
