And thanks guys for all the comments, esp. the "group photo" anyhow hamtum also got LIKE from Lowlights - those elderly ladies. Siow liao, siow liao.

Because it is a nice candid shot .. which if I was there I might not dare to take it .. all the ladies laying down to rest .. seems kind of imposing on their privacy
Anyway .. also need to thumps up you since you did not get hamtum by them .. hahaha

Day 3.

Another staged shoot.

Walking up the steps wasn't plan as stage shoot but if I remembered correctly, it was the Ang Moh sharp eyes recognised walking up the steps has potential for a great photo. So they were asked to walk up and walk down and walk up again. Money very hard to earn from us.

You people actually paid the monks to do that ? hahaha

These 3 monks were paid by SG trekkers but got to work doubly hard walking up and down the steps. The steps part wasn't the planned location, that's what I meant. See my post #199, same monks also staged.

Its certainly artistic and unusual and I like it. If you can put some light around his left ear (or left side of his face) it may work better. Just my thought.

I can't quite make up the figures. At least you have the fire brightness under control, but at the very expense of a dark figure. Its tough shots for that night. I didn't get any at all.

Thanks Divinemoment - What I want to achieve in both of those photos is to make only part of the human figure lighted up.. while keeping the other parts in the dark. Hoping that the viewer will notice the lighted part and (having prior knowledge of the human figure) guess the dark (unlighted) portion... Guess not very successful attempt.. hehheheee

Since ClemC is away, I shall backtrack back to the fish market. This pic supposed to tell an event and if you find it hard to grasp what's going on, I have failed.

Done like that la.. I didn't give pressure la.. I want to try and get my shots out soon as I still have some photo freom 2003 that have yet to be sorted.. LOL..

Guess this "Photographers at work 2" shot was done before we implemented the Gp1 & Gp2 Shoot Sequence ... else Hilda will always be far behind.. also heard that simiLING also make some noise at me.. me always have lens/finger/leg in her frame.. LOL

limwhow - tango yakee.. glad that the picture invokes some feelings.. although the kid seems happy, I dont think growing up in this environment is easy.. BUT that that is why "I can see the Bodhi tree" and very far from enlightenment..

Your series gave me a good insight what's going on there. Overall I think I spent about 15 mins there and most of the time I was outside the compound.

Divinemoment - that's why you miss the Bodhi Tree but got the Elephant Wall + Monks shot!!!.. we were all in the compound and all rush, rush hit the Bodhi Tree location (outside company) when we know we were running late for the Sunset shoot..

regarding SimiLING photo postings - just hit & run.. was also that that for earlier trips?...

This SimiLING also talk about Full-Frame many, many times during trip, even about IR body.. not sure if she alreadi jump the gun and BBB all those alreadi..

Day 03
Near Hingurakgoda Town - Monks Temple (enroute to Polonnaruwa). As Adrian mentioned, this is where we "pick-up" the monks (but they travelled via Tuk-Tuk instead of joining us on the Bus)

We spend quite a while in the Village Temple as it was quite conductive for low-light photography.. I think it is the Ang-Moh that started shooting, once he started... we just continued NON-STOP... every single Monk in Sight was a potential target ... hehheheee...

I have posted one earlier and will follow up with another here.. the rest have yet to sift out presentable ones..

FOr some reasons, my pics are always 1/3 to 1 stop under-exposed when send to Flickr and seen on CS.. maybe the problem is just my Laptop Monitor got to be calibrated
