Ah Wind ah, Ah Wind... you know something. Ever since you, Ah Hawk, SereneXMM and me, our first trip in Dec 2009 with SgTrekker roaming Jonker Street in Malacca, we have kept in touch and finally we were all able to go Namche together.
This is called 缘分. And I treasure this 缘分 with you all.
And this post you have just written is the longest paragraph I have seen from you.
And I am very very touched by what you say. Thank you. And I am sure we will travel together again!

Dr Lim(Li) Dai Sor!! Our Rediffusion man of the 21st century!!!! (electronics version).... You the man la!!.. So Modest !!! two-thumbs up la :)
Yupe. Eh... (quietly and by one side)... ClemC yah... you are right. I am Lim Dai Sor talk story 林大傻讲故仔.
My, you know about this Lin Dai Sor fellow, and Rediffusion? Then you must have been of a stated age, ClemC, hmmmm you must be...

I had enjoyed so much reading all of your funny jokes, comments .. and of cos pictures.. fantastic journey. I can only dream to be there.

Lydialee, thank you... dreaming is only the first step. The second step will be the step you take up the stairs of the small propeller plane to Lukla! Hahaha...

Dinousour!
You are not good with words? My friend, a picture is worth a thousand words. And a video of such calibre - a million sentences!
Such heart-warming rendition of our flight, with accompaniment on guitar a music that tugs on our hearts... my goodness, Dinosour yah Dinosour.... your video embodies all that we have experienced on the flight.
And the memories it brings back... is priceless!
Thank you for sharing with us your loving work of art!

Till Batam? Yes, we will be there.
Till Egypt? Yes, we will be there.
Till Myanmar? Well... maybe we will be half way there... haha...

Sigh... this Dinosour.... really too much.
Post up such a heart-tugging video. Make me start thinking of our trek all over again, although it has ended two weeks and 3 days ago. Now cannot sleep already.
Thought might as well post and share some memorable moments...

Our last sight of Mahesh, as his back view disappeared gradually into the crowds among the little alley...
I don't know how many of us actually saw this scene. We were about to walk back to Hotel Vaishali when the time came for Mahesh to part ways with us. It was a scene of hugs and hand shakes, and hand shakes and hugs, and bye byes and hugs and more hugs and hand shakes... like old friends who just can't bear leaving each other. But finally we parted. And my sight followed Mahesh's back as he made his way into that dark little small alley, and slowly his silhouette merged into the darkness of the crowds, until all I could see was his slim, handsome shape becoming smaller and smaller... wondering when will I ever see him again.

[quietly and by two sides] - Bro Lim, me around the same age range as you la.. THEREFORE, we are both still YOUNG la!!!...

btw, I know about Rediffusion & Li Dai Sor because I majored in Singapore History la.[legs crossed]. so Bro Lim, Sis SereneXMM and also me are really all very young, like most of the kakis in this group la... all very VERY, VERY YOUNG LA... except for the "hippie" Stevewhy

- He the SUPER Young!!!..

Like I said previously, only the fit and brave dare to do this trek...and all of you on this Nepal trek get my 110% respect. Thanks to all of you, this armchair 'trekker' (ME!) gets to enjoy the wonderful scenary and fun experience you guys went through. Of course, not to forget the superb story telling skill our limwhow has (plus the detailed research he and WKCheah have done) and the yummy soup SereneXMM has prepared for our Lim Dai Sor..haha. Meanwhile I will continue to improve on my photography skill and fitness level while looking forward to joining some of you in the next round. Thank you to all again :)

WHow, after reading all the posts, particularly your trek conclusion really made me re-live our fantastic adventure all over again in my mind. In all the SgTrekker trips we have made, I count this as the most memorable. All the companionship, jokes at dinner, the laughter, the tough ascent, the numbing cold, etc., made this trip special.

Towards the end of the travelogue, I can't help but feel a profound sense of sadness that this great adventure has ended.

As mentioned by Adrian - Nepal is like an itch that needs to scratched. For me, I feel an itch building. Everest beckons!!!

You are one heck of a fit-lo yah! But sincerely, thanks to you on behalf of all my team mates!

I don't even know where to begin because the 10 days I spent with all of you left me speechless. This was by far the best trip I've ever been(although I kbkb:bsmilie:) and in fact such a life changing experience. The people I was with, the places we went and the things we got to do were all so amazing and wonderful!!!
When I look back on my trip, I got to discover myself which I now believe is what travelling should be all about. After meeting alot of SG Trekker's "family", hang out with our crazy mates. It is no wonder SG Trekker is such a crazy company.
Adrian and Melvin was so down to earth. In this trip, they taught me that there is no time in life excuses. You just gotta live. You grow together like a family and that was the best part about going with SG Trekker.
We had the time of our lives and already am starting to look into their other trips.
Thank you so much for all the experience and memories!!!
Bohoohoo:cry:

Sharing my last few shots here.

This shot was taken by Arian during our last dinner at kathmandu.

Melvin's face!! by patrickplim, on Flickr

Eh...? Melvin's face got so slim one meh?
Or is it got used 'Liquify' tool in Photoshop to purposely sliim down his cheek profile one? :bsmilie:

Good catch, Campoes. I think I was just beside you but I didn't manage to get Amelia when the water came splashing onto her. Hahaha..!

Another good catch, Campoes!
Now that you show it, I think a few of us... hehe, actually one of them is me... would be keenly looking into that HD video camera that Stevewhy uses!

You are right. We were all gone case in no time.
The ONLY person who NEVER kena was? You guessed it right, Stevewhy!!!

Nice portrait!

Yikes! SO MENACING...!

Thanks doc :D

Day 10: Bye Bye, Nepal...

5610675296_60a010565c_b.jpg

It was not without a sense of unbearable yearning for the thin air up in the mountains, that we made our way to Kathmandu's Tribhuvan Airport for our final flight back home to Singapore. From the look of all the trekking poles sticking out of every one's backpack, it seemed that every single one of us in the team was keeping his and her poles, either for memory's sake, or for future use back here in this lovely country.

The Memories...

Perhaps the day would come when some of us in the team, unable to overcome the longing, would return for another whiff of the highland air. But for the others who choose not to, this trek would be held in a special place in their hearts, to be brought out time and again to be experienced in the deep recesses of their minds.

Whatever it would be, the tracks of the Everest Country had borne the stamps of every single one of our footprints. For that I believed we should be forever proud of. For every bit of suffering we undertook, we gained in each our own special way, not to mention slightly more expanded lung capacities and marginally more bulging thigh musculature.

The friendship that was forged in the coldest of nights and the darkest of dawn, would be something that would be difficult to forget. And each precious moment of laughter, of jokes shared, of cries of pain would be etched in our memories for posterity.

Thank you for Everything..

To all my team mates on this trek, I want to say a big thank you for making this trek one of the most unforgettable ones for both myself and SereneXMM. Even as I write this at this moment in time, flashes of scenes of our time together flood my mind.
To Adrian and Melvin, and to Mahesh, Baboo, Binot, Ramesh and all our Nepali guides and Sherpa porters, this had been one heck of a trek. And although I promised myself never to step foot on Sherpa land ever immediately upon finishing the trek, I have a strong feeling that this is a promise that I am somehow going to break.

Till we meet again...

With this, allow me to bring to an end this seemingly un-ending ranting travelogue.
And till we meet again, Dhanya Bhaad (Thank you) to all!

We want encore doc, more...more...... :D
Your picture really brings all the memories we had up there. Tears, pain and joy are mixed together into a feeling that can't be described by words.
And each of the pictures that you posted have depicted more than a thousand words, so imagine how many millions of words you have convey through your pictures :).

I sincerely hope all of us can travel together again with SGTrekker and re-live our Nepal trip in the next destination

In the meantime, i'll keep posting my very late photos as and when I find some free time hehehe

Adiossss.....
