R72 & canon 28-135 with 300D have a high chance of "hot spots". Exposure time will be EXTREMELY LONG for canons.... 50/1.8 will be a better choice for canon IR....
Yikes speak of the ghost. :bsmilie:

Really? Erm, what's hot spots (sorry)?

oh hey, haha... how do u find the diameter of ur lens huh? i don't know how big my 28 -135mm lens is...

I believe the canon 28-135 IS uses 72mm filters. I am using a 72mm R72, cost abt S$120 from Cathay Photo....

Awww! Don't go!
We just managed to bring back 2 of the previous members! Don't u go pulling the disappearing act on me now! hahaha!

Think your lens are in the 67mm range. Should say either on the lens or the lens cap what diameter it is. Come back in here after 10pm, most of them are active during that time span.

Do you use it often or do u find that the long exposure time does put u off?

It's an over-exposed round area in the center of the lens, sometimes it is red (also called red-spot).

Mild example : http://eawtan.spymac.com/2005_Jan_03_IR/slides/DSCF5978_1.html

Luckily nikons/fujis are more IR sensitive and exposures (bright sunny day) are around 1/2s - 1/8s, ISO200, f5.6. Checkout my IR gallery in my sig below...
