R72 & canon 28-135 with 300D have a high chance of "hot spots". Exposure time will be EXTREMELY LONG for canons.... 50/1.8 will be a better choice for canon IR....

Think your lens are in the 67mm range. Should say either on the lens or the lens cap what diameter it is. Come back in here after 10pm, most of them are active during that time span.

Luckily nikons/fujis are more IR sensitive and exposures (bright sunny day) are around 1/2s - 1/8s, ISO200, f5.6. Checkout my IR gallery in my sig below...
