using 35mm so didn frame the horizon in... just fireworks only... :embrass:

e spots maybe could be either stray light entering from your view finder during the long exposure. Thats why some ppl do take e trouble of covering up the view finder during long exposures.
Another possibility is maybe yr CCD. Try shooting with lens cap on for the same settings u used & also at even long exposures (cover e view finder) just to check if the spots will appear
