piggie is just a student leh, dont make him spend his $$ on a item thats of not much value to him now. Think many already talked him outta getting a DSLR, so dont tempt him into it again

tot he's fixed on 300D... hmmm :think:

Nothing wrong with DSLR mah... it's the craze to stay infront of the technology curve that kills the wallet.

In fact get a "appropriate entry level" DSLR is slightly cheaper than a prosumer digicam.... that of course u dun get the buy buy buy bug for expensive lens... a simple kit lens or a sigma's 18-200 is pretty much all you need.

Else go for flim SLR... now with index print and burning into CD-ROMS... u dun need to print all your pics upfront. Not much cost if you dun be too trigger happy.

No.... DSLR is a good investment, student also must learn how to enjoy life and use DSLR ma... then when graduate liao can BUY BUY BUY!!!!

Huh... u dun understand meh... looks like my england not powerful enuf..

simply put it... buy a simple system and use until it dies... dun upgrade.

Or go for flim and use it sparingly (ie think 3 times before releasing the shutter)... when developing... dun print everything.. ask the shop to burn it to CD instead... lastly, dun upgrade.

The above 2 options are better then getting a prosumer digicam...

The last option is dun shoot at all...

Aiyah, it's an attraction + want now, the more fp doesn't want to face it, when the temptation comes, it's laggi worse, might as well just get tempted when the urge is not that great.
