Gonna send my cam in for servicing, just replaced the hacked firmware with the original, problem is that my red-eye reduction icon is flashing. :sweat: anyone knows how to fix this?

Wats wrong wif yr 300D?

Before flashing back old firmware, did u:
Reset all the Custom Function values to the original 300D settings. Below is a list of default binary values from left to right
(the bottom numbers in the CF menu):
0,0,0,0,0,1,0,11,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

Noticed a value of 11, duno correct or not :dunno: (copied from Wasia instructions)

yes. it is. just cycle thru the options for dat particular CF function until u get the value '11'.

it is not a binary no. it is just the setting u can choose from a particular Custom function. IIRC.

Thanks NW and Gryphon .. managed to solve if after ripping out the lithium ion battery .. so all custom fuctions cleared and the problem is gone. Going to send it in for servicing.

Also realised I didn't send in the warranty card :think: :sweat:

No need send in, u must have e receipt to show date of purchase.

sent my cam for cmos cleaning and general checking sometime back before expiry of warranty. i bring along my unfilled warranty and they dont bother to look at it.
