It is not a truth, but a preference.

Not true wor, usually lenses of max aperture f/2.8 or larger would have larger diameters, another case would be those super-telephoto lenses which would also have significantly larger diameters also. Those cameras you talking about are probably the Full Frame cameras bah, like the D700, D3, 5D MkII, Alpha 900, etc.

Hey guys, need to ask your opinions. I want to buy a camera but i can't choose between the d90 or the d300. Any tips guys? I've read the other threads on clubsnap but I still can't decide between the both of them. I'm afraid that the d300 is too pro for me leh. So your opinion guys?

Or are you referring simply to a "larger" camera in terms of the grip size?

Umm... larger diameter cameras, what I could think of is the Nikon D2X series, D3, Canon 1D series that has built-in grips, otherwise you'll need external vertical grips to get the camera's perimeter larger :bsmilie:

I'd go for the D300 bah. Maybe because I'm too accustomed to using the D200. Besides D300 is meant to serve the mid-range Nikon DSLR market, another upgrade would be the pricer D700 liaoz. S5Pro is a good buy now for its price, if you wanna do portraiture/landscape it'll be perfect. For wildlife (birds, etc), it wouldn't be fast enough.
