Thanks for sharing and you must have enjoyed the journey there.

I did a solo trip in Namibia back in 2010. This is a great place to travel, much safer than South Africa or Zimbabwe. The landscapes, especially Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei are fascinating.

Did you visit the Himba people?

Here is a link to some of my photos from that trip, Zenfolio | N.S. Ng | Namibia

I love your pictures but very saddened to see those dead grown trees.... You have made excellent shots to give me this impression of sadness. Your animal shots lightened the day. Love especially #42 & #48

Thanks for looking markyen
There's always ups and downs in a long trip, overall a nice experience.

Thanks for sharing your photos, love the b/w zebra.
I did SA self drive safari(Kruger) as well, it's better for wildlife, not landscape.
Namibia has the most diversified subjects to shoot so far comparing my trips in Kenya, SA and Namibia.

No I did not visit the Himba, too much things to cover in 3 wks.

Thanks, Desert does give people a sense of sadness and emptiness.
Did a couple of trips to the desert in Xinjiang as well, it's even more dramatic with the punishing weather.

glad u like the photos.
the photos shown here are done with 500, a couple of shots with 1.4, 2x. There's one with 15 fisheye.
sometimes i will switch to 300 for flight shots for bigger raptors, the seal colony is rather huge, you can use wide angle to tele for variety of shots.

Wow, all your shots are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

back to landscape

when we reached Spitskoppe, we are very fascinated by the rock formation
but the lighting is totally not to our advantage, so we decided to stay there for the whole day to wait for better lighting
in the end we miss the curfew time of our accomodation for the night and had to drive throughout the night to our next accomodation
but at 4am, there was no one to check us into the campsite so we slept inside our car for few hours until the reception open
one of the not so well planned moments of our trip haha
