anyways i find that some points raised are ridiculous.

as mentioned by naimeh, there are precautions to take, steps to avoid.

2:"PP will never be as good as the original image. "
all images undergo some form of PP. in camera editing such as white balance is one. compression to jpg is one. even back in film, u need darkroom editing to get ur image. so pls stop saying "u dun edit ur photos". this phrase only comes from ppl who only SHOT in digital and never film before. (or in film, but never heard of the developing process)

3:"remember those good ol' days where everything is shot in film, & if your shot su#ks when you take it its gone? Sorry I'm still stuck at that era... "
from how u say, it seems u were never from that era...... even now in digital, if ur shot is bad, image is still gone. its just taht u can fire off more shots in comparision. same techniques still apply. if u wanna return to ur good old days? gaffe tape ur lcd screen and dun refer to it at all.

i'll end this with this quote.

55-250 is a lens that i'm very proud of, and i dare say its quality is unrivalled for its price too:thumbsup:

nope. just straight from camera. if i did the colors will not be so neutral. and yes. 55-250 is a sharp lens. dun look down on it.

Sure, I did some slight sharpening, but so what. As long as I don't see obvious artifacts, I don't think there's anything wrong with sharpening. I think one should use whatever tools available to get the best result, especially in this digital age. Being a "purist" is futile, the jpegs generated by cameras will never be as good as manually processing RAW files if you know what you are doing. That's why I always tweak my photos in Lightroom or Photoshop as I see fit, mostly sharpening and contrast adjustments, sometimes white balance.

I definitely don't edit my pics in photoshop, and I never use the tools in the cd that came with my dslr.

Sure, I did some slight sharpening, but so what. As long as I don't see obvious artifacts, I don't think there's anything wrong with sharpening.

No, I compose the shot first, set the aperture, etc... then take a test shot before the event. I know the lighting isn't gonna change. If the image is even slightly ugly I delete it, then tune the settings to make it good.
