I have a rubber band around my Nikon 18-55, it owns your lens.

What color is the rubber band? Nowadays, rubber band comes in multi color .
Yellow. Also, I painted a 'N' on my lens. Now it is the king of all lenses.
if you have a crap camera that only focuses in a certain way,
and that's all you can afford, you should be focusing on mastering the
equipment so that you can give best results based on the limiting
factor here ~naimeh.
:bsmilie:
It will be the Ultimate of all lenses if the 'N' is painted in Gold paint on the front element.
I'm sure all xmm, gwc, gearwhores will come to admire your ultimate lens. :sticktong
Wow, I didn't expect that lens to reach even half of that kind of sharpness... did you PP?ur so asking to get ur head bitten off:bsmilie:

I definitely don't edit my pics in photoshop, and I never use the tools in the cd that came with my dslr.anyways i find that some points raised are ridiculous.
1:"However even the best photographer can't stop the flare & CA without PP when he's using a crappy lens like the previous gen canon kit I lenses..."
as mentioned by naimeh, there are precautions to take, steps to avoid.
2:"PP will never be as good as the original image. "
all images undergo some form of PP. in camera editing such as white balance is one. compression to jpg is one. even back in film, u need darkroom editing to get ur image. so pls stop saying "u dun edit ur photos". this phrase only comes from ppl who only SHOT in digital and never film before. (or in film, but never heard of the developing process)
3:"remember those good ol' days where everything is shot in film, & if your shot su#ks when you take it its gone? Sorry I'm still stuck at that era... "
from how u say, it seems u were never from that era...... even now in digital, if ur shot is bad, image is still gone. its just taht u can fire off more shots in comparision. same techniques still apply. if u wanna return to ur good old days? gaffe tape ur lcd screen and dun refer to it at all.
i'll end this with this quote.
nope. just straight from camera. if i did the colors will not be so neutral. and yes. 55-250 is a sharp lens. dun look down on it.
I definitely don't edit my pics in photoshop, and I never use the tools in the cd that came with my dslr.
i'll share with u a secret. thats my next lens that i'm getting actually.
No, I compose the shot first, set the aperture, etc... then take a test shot before the event. I know the lighting isn't gonna change. If the image is even slightly ugly I delete it, then tune the settings to make it good.and may i ask why? unless u tell me what ur camera gives out is always fully what u intended, in terms of color, contrast and etc, i have nothing to say.
most of us here understands the limitations of our dslr. i'm using a old 450d. i know the limitations interms of its in camera processing. mine has the tendency to shoot very neutral colors, which is great for preserving detail, but bad to look at. editing will allow me to enhance the image, so that it shows what i intend ppl to see.
