hey danny, your images are always so inspiring!

keep up the great work with your street photography - its always been a pleasure viewing

wow man two thumbs up to your style and this thread.. i'm thinking of getting the 85 1.4 too. do you still use it? the only thing holding me back is the lack of AF. any issues with that? especially since your subjects move around a bit. appreciate it.

Excellent milestones and keep going!
Congratulations!

Big thanks, Thomas :) keep pumping out those minimalist works of art!

Thanks, bro... yup, I almost always use the 85mm 1.4. The AFD version actually has auto focus... it's not as fast as you would want, but it's fast enough.

Great work Danny! Love your works.... :)

Just wanted to add to my 'strangers' series...

Thanks, bro.. it's been a while since I saw you here :) I just saw your website, looks like your doing pretty well in your photography

Thanks, man... some are taken wide open at f1.4, others are taken stopped down a bit at f2.2

Really beautiful portraits :) Hope one day I can muster up enough courage to ask a stranger for a photo man

Good to see your rain shots are back! :D

Your stranger pics are awesome too.. great capture of their facial features..

always as inspiring!

subscribing your blog as well! great for amateurs as well as fellow photographes :D

hi danny,

have not visited for a while, looks like you have taken quite a different direction now.

i am still very pensive as to whether i'd call this new work as street photography in the purest sense of the word. it is certainly photography taken on the streets, but to me these are more like... street portraits. they are well taken with a certain amount of consistency, but the element of what HCB would term as the decisive moment has been lost somewhere in the pile of posing, set up shots, etc.

nonetheless, that's just semnatics, and it is a great effort.

hey thanks, man. I actually agree with you... for a while now, I myself haven't been referring to most of my shots as 'street photography', they're just 'photography' really - only taken in the streets. And that applies most especially with my recent close up portraits with strangers. I've been wanting to dive into portraiture for a while, and this project sort of gives me a smooth transition from candids to portraits.

I also debated early on if I should post these under 'portraiture' topic in this forum, but I figured, why not just put it here where all my shots are... I mean they're still taken in the streets anyway.

I guess you can say that to be a good street photographer isn't really my goal... rather it's to be a good photographer... and Orchard Road was my early boot camp :)
