great portraits! i love it that no one is smiling or flashing their pearly whites.....very gritty!
once you have enough to make a sizeable collection, you should make a mosaic out of them.
to be honest, i noticed you along orchard road around xmas time 9you wearing berms and had a newspaper boy cap on).
Wow. They are realy great! Its not easy for you to approach them right?
3 thumbs for you!...When is the next EB!....glad to join u...Bro..
thanks, bro. That project was a collaboration with another photographer, Fleecircus. It ran for 10 weeks, we just used a mounting board as a background, and had about 446 portraits in total. We didn't use flash with it, just natural lighthey danny, i came across ur site and was really amazed by ur "5 sec" series. haha
may i ask if u took those shots with a flash? or with natural light? they are really amazing!

glad you like it, man.awesome set. love it
Both lenses are already good to start street shooting. I would suggest that you try out your current gear for now and see what focal length you are more comfortable with. My personal preference in street shooting are prime lenses. I shoot with an 85mm f1.4 for street portraits, and sometimes with a 20mm f2.8 for capturing street scenes.Hi i am interested in doing street photography, and i wondering what lens should i get.
i am already an owner of
1.50mm f1.8
2.tamron 17-50 f2.8

Hi Danny
So just to clearify, you use
1. 50mm for close up Shots of people
2. 20mm for the whole scene
Still learning the trades of photography.
I currently have a D90 with the 18-105 kit lense and am contemplating on getting either a 50 or 85 prime. And am getting back into photography after a 10 year lost. (Had a F70 25-85mm lense back then)
Hope to learn from you and man, your pics are of top quality.
Regards
Navin Pal Singh
Thanks Danny. Thanks, Navin. I use an 85mm for closeup shots, and yes, a 20mm for street scenes. Both 50 and 85 primes are good lenses.. i guess you can try setting your kit lense to both 50mm and 85mm and see which focal length you are more comfortable with to get the kind of shot you want. Hope this helps![]()
Does 1.4f or 1.8F matter, other than price?
Awesome stuff manKeep them coming!
Love the bokeh on these few photos... are you using a CZ lens?
Think Santos is using the AFD 85 f1.4Right bro?
ahahah yup, I believe that was mehi danny..i saw u from afar at around 5pm+ near Taka yesterday (sunday)...you were wearing a beret-style cap and a striped blue and white t-shirt![]()
It was raining last weekend, so I decided to take a short break from shooting portraits of strangers and do some rain shots instead.
