once you have enough to make a sizeable collection, you should make a mosaic out of them.

Thanks, man yup, that's what i always tell the subjects, to not smile... it feels more natural, i think. yeah, it would be interesting to see a mosaic out of it once i've reached 100.

may i ask if u took those shots with a flash? or with natural light? they are really amazing!

thanks, bro. That project was a collaboration with another photographer, Fleecircus. It ran for 10 weeks, we just used a mounting board as a background, and had about 446 portraits in total. We didn't use flash with it, just natural light

Both lenses are already good to start street shooting. I would suggest that you try out your current gear for now and see what focal length you are more comfortable with. My personal preference in street shooting are prime lenses. I shoot with an 85mm f1.4 for street portraits, and sometimes with a 20mm f2.8 for capturing street scenes.

2. 20mm for the whole scene

Still learning the trades of photography.

I currently have a D90 with the 18-105 kit lense and am contemplating on getting either a 50 or 85 prime. And am getting back into photography after a 10 year lost. (Had a F70 25-85mm lense back then)

Hope to learn from you and man, your pics are of top quality.

Judging from the reviews I've read, there's not much difference except that 1.4f is slightly better at low light situations, has slightly creamier bokeh, and is sharper at f/2. I've seen shots from a 1.8f and they're also pretty good!

Nope, just the good ol'Nikkor 85mm f1.4 afd. Wish I had a CZ lens, though.
