what safety concerns?
stations that are without doors..
what safety concerns?
I wonder why a public service, which is supposed to serve the public, is instead only interested in maintaining the bottom line?

I don't mind being charged more... but they must decrease the waiting time and over-crowding.
Complain loh...still increase what!
The thing here is open market. If the government opens up this sector, these companies can go fly kite liao...
honestly speaking, do these companies deserve a fare hike ? has the issues in service level and safety concerns raised by the commuters being addressed ?
anyway to keep things in perspective...
if you look at SBS Transit's income statement for 2006...
their turnover was about $612m. Increasing fares by 1.5% means their revenue increases by
maybe $10m.
they expect their staff costs to increase by about $10m, fuel costs to increase by 20% - 25% which is about $24m to $30 m (and considering that oil futures just hit a record high this week). so they expect their costs this year to increase by at least $35m.
So revenue increase by at most $10m while costs increase by at least $35m
LPPL!!
remember the money u got from #$%^&...credited to your bank......time to recoup them back from the common folks
why staff cost increase by $10m ? what is the justification for the increase in staff cost ?
you work for the Pay and Pay Co.?....:bsmilie::sweatsm:how come everyone only complain about the costs, never complain about the fruits of the economy ie. property yield, stock markets, highest starting pay for fresh grads in so many years...

Hmmmm maybe it is because many of us are not
1) being enbloced and becoming instant millionaires
2) Are not actively involved in playing the stock markets
3) Are not fresh grads and hence highest starting pay doesnt affect us
Hence the reasons you gave for celebrating dont affect us in anyway
However we are
1) Not getting pay increases despite what the papers say
2) Having to cope with constant increases in prices of everything despite our pay remaining the same
3) Having to cope with increases of daily necessities related to GST of 7 percent
4) Having no money to buy car, no money to take taxi and yet every year have to content with increase in Public Transport fees when they are making high profits each year.
Maybe that is why we complain.....
