use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the batts after full charge and after 2 days.

If full charge read around 1.4V and after 2 days read at around 1.28V, ok?

Today went to changed.. brought 4 of them, changed only 1.. infact i tested only 1 batt 0 Volts others around 1.3+ volts .. so i assume they only changed me 1... waited ard 15-20mins... while waiting just fill in the survey Questionsi think... i'm the only cust...Saw the their 2006 calander.. the 2700mAH launched in japan already.

those dead or bad batch should have less than 1.1V after 5 days...good one will still show 1.3v after a week

yup roughly about there, when just finish charge, it's about 1.35-1.45V, after a day or two, it will drop between 1.25-1.3+V. Those below 1.1V after a few days or week are the one that doesn't last long.

Hi CSer,

call up Sanyo on Mon about 4 pcs of battery. They allow me to go up the office as I told them I had e-mail them but has no reply. The staff feedback 2 pcs show end of life therefore only 2pcs are replaced.
I had a marking on the battery, #1 (2 pcs) #2 (2pcs) as I always use and charge them in pairs. The 2 pcs which show end of life (charge more than allow) was mark #1 and #2. This is strange as how can the other marked pcs does not show end of life if they are charge the same numbers of times? After some discussion, Sanyo, out of goodwill, replace the other 2 pcs of battery.

For others who has not go for the replacement, I re-confirm the e-mail address with the staff as: sales@sanyo-energy.com.sg

as far as I know, even the 3 sets four batteries I used, there can be great variation between each battery, I know because I charge or discharge with the Lacrosse charger, whish show indivdually how much has been charged or discharged.

I just bought the new Sanyo charger and batteries 2500mh that fully charges in 15 minutes.

I wonder if the fact that these express chargers will also affect the performance and retention of these already problematic batteries ?

please dun be alarmed .... if you have just bought your items, can you tell me what batch number is engraved on your batteries. SANYO is already making a effort to replace earlier batteries, which do not work well under tropical climate. You should be owning the IMPROVED batteries now ....I hope this clarifies

Perhaps I will bring down my sets some time next week, as their office only opens on weekdays. Since Sanyo is making efforts to replace the batteries, I don't really see too much of a problem.

after full 15 minutes charge (the charger shuts down) and leaving the batteries at least overnight , and putting it into my Minolta 7Hi , its doesn't show a full charge at all.

Another observation:
Just bought another 3 sets of the 2500 batteries. Charged them all on the La Crosse at 200 mAh and I noticed that the voltage at full charge is consistent at 1.40V...

My older batch of batteries that Sanyo didn't exchange for new ones had higher voltages between 1.45V - 1.48V.

high voltage is normal if you use fast charge when the battery is hot. After the battery cool down, the voltage should be 1.4v.

Lacrosse 200mAh charging current is considered as gentle/cool charge...so the voltage at 1.4v is normal

200mAh charge current?:sweat: How long did you charge them for!!!

I usually use 700mah or 1000mah, no patience to wait that long. 700mah seems best if you are not in air-con room to prevent stoppage due to overheating.

Anyway, what I noticed is that the voltage will climb as high as 1.48V towards the end of charging, but will usually drop down to ~1.40V when fully charged. So they may be behaving the same, just that you took a peek at a different time.

So does anyone have any info on the batches that are fault or are they just random? 1 have 20 AA batts, and have noticed they dun really last very long on my SB-600/800. And my charger doesn't have any indication of charge value in volts.

All those that want to change, pls note that i was informed that their battery testing machine was sent back to Japan for servicing/repair. I guess you all overloaded their testing machine =)

Email them first to find out when its back, but they told me about 2 weeks more.

Forever... I have this set that's been charging for 15 hours now... Yeap... the voltages drop to about 1.35 when it's full... Funny thing is the amount of mAh that went into the batteries had a reading of 3000!!!! Is this overcharging?

Mine sometime shoot above 2700-2900mAh also, I suspect some charges are lost in heat energy form. I think the discharge counter is more correct.

Just call this Heather and got a VERY BAD service from her. I dunno if she is really irritated by all the calls being directed to her or what but they should have a roadshow or whatever thing to recall the products if Sanyo staff is that impatient to phone enquiries. Ask me to email for the enquiry while refuse to give me to email add. Ask me to search it by myself, excuse from her was I should be able to do it since I can have her number. Well, there is always a form call feedback form since I have her number and name.

From a very dissatified customer.

Finally I decided to make a trip down to Sanyo this morning and get my 4 pcs (ONLY) batt changed. Yet to tesst the batteries.

Well, this time, the service is pretty good :thumbsup: I must say. I did not make appointment and just dropby to fill up the form, after 10 min a lady came to me adn told me that their battery tester is sent for repair or what so they are not able to test my batteries BUT they just exchange my 4 pcs of batteries (perhaps all the batteries from this batch are not good).

According to her, they will still test "my batteries" and email me the result.

Now I am happy again .
