Samyang 7.5mm 1:3.5 UMC Fish-eye MFT...

yup pre order promotion is much cheaper than ebay now
Can get for <$500? Cause can get on eBay for ~$530 with free shipping. If must wait for 1 month for stock to come, might as well get the much cheaper Rokinon version as it would be released end Oct.

yup got it around $400plus no gst

Wow, at that price, sure wouldn't mine getting one to try. Manual focus only but it's a FE lens so DoF should be quite deep right?

Bought the 8mm samyang at $490 from Sgcamerastore during 1 of their order promotion , great service from them , got my chip af install for just below $20 from them as well , now waiting for my M4/3 to arrive from them, yup saw the cert at their shop as well , when i went over to place order from them

hey i got an 8mm samyang few mths back oso $490 for my canon crop sensor, i didn't know there is a AF chip? can tell me more? Generally easy to use as a manual but AF would be nice...what does it involve?

u bought from sgcamerastore also ? yup there a Af chip , but it only af comfirmation chip , just a beep sound . yup u can ask sgcamerastore to check on this service , but to be honest 8mm does not really need as it already sharp at 8mm when set to infinite . just my eye sight no good so ask for this service

yep, didn't preorder, was quoted 500plus, but i told the shop US is $300, then he said the preorder got left over set, so can sell 490 so i bought..generally very happy, problem is when taking shots at f3.5 say indoor not very bright, to capture kids party and atmosphere, and capture all the people in scene, and moving around, if not careful about setting focus distance, the pic not so sharp, generally bright scene i just set f5.6, usully sharp all round...so is the chip useful indoors?

Was sian the preorder price is good but the wait is long:/ was told to get the 8mm ver and use with adapter but the Len is heavier than the camera body lol

well for that pre order price - it worth waiting , better when it fully launch the price on oct end world wide .

Price of this lens from DC Fever HK is SGD 440.

Include GST yet? If get pass tax, PM me the tip.
Whether kenna GST or not depends mainly on the dealer. If he declare the true cost on the customs form and use the more well-established couriers like FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc then sure 100% have to pay GST which would be collected by the courier from you on delivery. If the dealer declares the true cost and use the normal postal service, there is a good chance that the parcel might escape being picked out in the random spot checks for GST charges. If he don't declare the true cost or any cost and uses the normal postal services, then very likely will be able to escape the GST payment.

In this case for the 7.5mm fisheye, I did not seems to have to pay GST. ;)

The silver-coloured version looks really great when matched with a silver-coloured camera body.
